The 14.1 NF pony I used to loan for the last three-four years always liked to go round pokey-nosed. Over the last year or so I put SO much work into his flatwork, lots of rallies, lessons and for a good couple of weeks I schooled him every day in spurs. Eventually he became rounded whenever I asked, first time. Still a lot of muscle needed to be built up, but he was nice and willing. Since I bought a new horse a younger less experienced girl's been riding him (last 2 weeks) and I got back on him yesterday and he's gone straight back to the pokey-nosed pig he was before!!! :( :( :( So now I'm going to school him once a week, every week with spurs to keep him going. I would hate to see all my effort wasted!!!

Haha pointless post!! xxx

It must be a bit soul destroying to see your hard work go to waste, but wouldn't it be useful to help the girl ride in a way to encourage him to work correctly rather than just riding him yourself? You could invite her to watch you working with him and sort of explain how and what you're doing.
