Since having Troy Hannah does a big wee, then stands there for a minute in the wee position and does one or two small wees after that

This did not happen pre Troy, so I was wondering whether someone on here had noticed this with their mares after foaling?

One of my mares does this but she damaged the nerve endings of the urethra as she foaled her first foal.
Mine was more dramatic as she was obviously uncomfortable and on closer examination had managed to get air in her bladder.
This was flushed out with saline and she recieved antibiotics after which she was much better and more comfortable.
She does still do her second wee now (two foals later) but it has improved to what it was and doesnt bother her.
But you can get varying degrees of nerve damage particularly if the mare has a large foal or a traumatic foaling.

There is no discomfort at all... it is almost as if she has a weak bladder

It is also not all of the time, just every so often. She sort of does a big wee, then stands straight, then splits her legs again and does a little one

Do you think I should get the vet out to have a look?
