I had heard that people found after treatment with GG for ulcers, their horses had totally changed personality, normally for the better.

My mare is in her 3rd week of treatment and is turning into a total cow!! Cocky isnt the word for her, and im having to tell her off a lot more than normal!

Im hoping its the feed as weve changed feed and shes had a lot more than normal due to loosing a dramatic amount of weight whilst being diagnosed. Ive cut this down, and im hoping this is it, as im not very keen on her new, rude behaviour!

Anyone else had any changes in bahaviour after GG?

My horse seems to have become a lot more forward going when being ridden. (He was always a steady Eddie but I'm now wondering if that was actually a symptom of the ulcers and maybe, in reality, he's something completely different!) He does seem a little calmer in the stable etc but I can only see that in hindsight as he's always been laid back. Hope he doesn't turn cocky too! Maybe your mare is just feeling more comfortable and feels like trying it on (?)

My horse has been on GG for 3.5 weeks now - we are going back to the vets on Wednesday for a rescope to see how they are looking. I think the opposite has happened with mine - he is a lot more nosy and interested in me (as if he wants to my friend again now!!), before he was very down and wasnt really interested in anything that was going on around him. now he neighs and puts his head out of the stable rather than not even acknowledging me. sorry not much help but it took him a good 3 weeks on the GG for this to happen! the ears are no longer going back! maybe give it some time, good luck with her recovery :-)

^^ my thoughts too. Have you changed to a hi fibre diet? My WB gets micronised linseed and plain chaff and I feed carob (locust bean) and adlib hay. Mollasses are not good for gut health nor foot health either and hay is much better than haylage too.
 
Yes shes now on fibre beet and adlib hay as per vet recommendation. Ive cut it down but id like more weight on her.

She was ridden today for first time and was a good girl, so fingers crossed its only a temporary blip! :)
