This was Talisker when we first brought him home two days before Christmas, five years ago this December..

I know dogs in kennels quite often lose condition but that pic shows me why I would always have a rescue dog

He looks a bit different now

Sorry the pics are so big, I was doing a quick post so didnt resize them

Ah bless...he looks fab in second picci....this post has reminded me of hope our starved greyhound, the chroniclt did a story on her last week, will have to do some before and after piccie post of her.

LOL - I must admit I thought she looked lovely in her pic, so it was obviously an 'after' pic

GRWE used to use a worse pic of a greyhound called George who they had rescued, it really wrenched at my heart strings every time I saw it and I always had to send them a donation
crazy.gif
Talisker wasnt nearly as bad as George

But Tal is living the good life now, and is currently lying on the sofa next to me looking very smug

He had his second cartrophen injection today so hopefully his old-age stiffness will start wearing off a bit soon

All Cala's post made me want to do was take all those lovely dogs home! But I haven't long before I can start looking for a little dog, how far away are you from gGloucester, Cala?

Tal looks lovely, I would love a Greyhound, unfortunately OH has limited experiance of Greyhounds/Lurchers and thinks they're all as horrid as the ones he knows and the farm we're moving to has lots of small fluffy animals running loose (not a probem for all greyhounds I know!)

LOL - well, yes, greyhounds/lurchers and small and fluffies CAN go together........ but none of mine have done
grin.gif
I just checked GRWE's website but they dont have the pic which I love, of a greyhound cuddling up to a cat

The lady who had two rabbits in cat baskets in the vets tonight was terribly worried

He really was thin! Was he a stray? He looks great now.

Thank you (about the now bit!)
smile.gif
Yes he had been a stray, he was obviously horribly treated too as he is claustrophobic and is terrified of anyone trying to touch his feet/clip his claws
crazy.gif
He has been a challenge sometimes but I really love him to bits, he will probably leave an even bigger gap than Jura did when he finally goes as he had been such a pest sometimes
grin.gif

My parents used to use my pet rabbit to make sure their gundogs were steady, that rabbit would make sure no dog ever thought about chasing a rabbit again
grin.gif
If he wasn't trying to bonk them (and he wasn't far off the same size as our spaniels!) then he would be going for their jugular!
He was killed by a fox, but the bloody thing must of thought he could take the fox on, as he had plenty of places to hide that a fox coudn't have got in! Strange little aggressive bunny!

You are too young to have seen it, but that is obviously where Monty Python got their inspiration for their killer rabbit in Monty Python and the Holy Grail
grin.gif
That bit is SO funny
grin.gif
grin.gif

It was brilliant, the knights were in some quarry with caves and they were attacked by a killer white rabbit which went for the jugular just like yours
grin.gif

They started off 'attack, attack, it is only a rabbit' then it flew at one of them and killed him so they all start shouting 'run away, run away'

Well OK, it is better if you actually see it

Awww, what a lovely looking dog.

I, sadly, AM old enough to remember the killer white rabbit
grin.gif
grin.gif
(think it must be a white rabbit thing, cos my daughter had two of them and they were EVIL,, and they had red eyes, that I am sure used to glow at times

I know what you mean! My lurcher Alf was the same (been trying to load pics to swap skinny lurcher stories but can't) and he has been, and still is, really hard work but his big brown eyes melt my heart and his mental ways make me laugh every day.
