has anyone got any ideas to improve tracking of horses??

Im all for everything being freezemarked and registered, like cars number plates, are to a database. Im not so fussed on microchipping due to so many stories about them being 'dug' out

I think they should all be fitted with trackers - just like expensive cars. Hmm, not sure whther it'd be possible to get a tracker to 'immobilise' them though if stolen.........hehe

Seriously though, what with today's technology I wonder if it would be possible to have trackers within microchips? I know with GPS technology there are dog collars you can get so that if your dog goes walkabout you can find out where it is. obviously that wouldn't be suitable for horses as you can just take it off but bet you can put them in microchips!
