I have just sold my horse and accepted a deposit but they have now asked for my horse to be vaccinated prior to them picking him up.
He has lapsed with his vaccinations as I didn't compete him and never thought it necessary.
They are paying and arranging the vet and I was fine with this until a friend told me tonight about her horse having a reaction to the vaccine, it became quite poorly for a good few weeks and lost a lot of weight.
Then tonight I was just browsing on here and came upon the vaccine gone wrong thread and now I am really worried.
Apparently it is yard rules that all horses need to be vaccinated before they arrive on the buyers yard.
What do I do????
Am I going to seem really unreasonable if I refuse this, ( I have already said it's fine ) but now doing some research abscesses and reactions are quite common.
Who would be responsible if he became ill, would they still buy him.
I really don't know what to do???
Please advise.
