Am I potty for the way I do my horse? I wondered after someone commented.
My horse is a VERY good doer, so he is kept in a starvation field, and fed every night - as he has joint supplements to get.
Now some have said that I am mad and that I should just let him have the grass for energy, but then he would need to wear a muzzle - and that makes him depressed, but saves me money on feed!
They way I do it I can control his intake- he gets more feed if I know he has more work to do the next day etc - and his weight. He would just eat him self stupid if left in a normal paddock.
But, do you think I am a victim of the weigh culture byt wanting him to not be fat? Or am I responsible owner trying to safeguard against laminitus etc?
And yes, for those of you that might wonder, I do myself have issues with food/weight.
