My 11 year old daughter has just bought her very first horse with the money she has been saving since the beginning of the year. It's a registered Appaloosa and I can't see anywhere on the form stating ages of people transferring ownership. Do you know if it is legal for her to have this horse in her own ownership? We would prefer her name to be on the title obviously as it is her horse.

Well I have quickly scanned the website and can't see anything. Will look again.

Meg has taken some photos but I haven't uploaded them yet. Am off out for brunch shortly with some friends but will post them a little later.

They're pretty fine looking animals I have to say - they look even better in my field than they did at the sale.

Okay here's a real quickie....only have time to upload one photo though. Will do the rest when I get home.

Here's the 2 palomino's I bought, and the backend of the Appy that daughter bought.

Palominos! There's no hope for you now

Pleased to hear that Megan has got herself a nice little horse, looking forwards to photos of them all. That nearest palomino has some back end on it!

As for the ownership question, there is no dob section to fill in? If not, then I can't see that it matters.

How exciting for her!

A friend had her son's pony in his name and he was about your daughter's age... I shouldn't think it would be a problem as surely any legal responsibility would fall to you anyway as her parent (since she's a minor)

There should be no problem with it at allThe only thing you will find is that any problems with the welfare will fall down to you as parents as she is still a minor, and i am sure there will be no issues there!

As far as i am aware there is no law as for age of ownership with regards to animals????Lets face it they can have rabbits etc....I KNOW horses are more of a responsibility but they are still animals,AND usually the parents of kids that own ponies take responsibility anyway!!!I wish her well with her own pony

I only wish my parents had the money when i was that age, lol, lucky girl, bet she is made up!!!x

Can i ask???Have you lived over there all your life???Where abouts are you??Hubby used to live out there and would love to go back,(i have lived here in sh*tty britain all mine, lol)i think the place is stunning but have no idea about the way of life (jobs etc??)other than what hubby has told me and that will be biased as he wants to go back, lmao!!
laugh.gif
,would you mind if i was to pm you about what sort of jobs are available etc??x

thanx!!she must have adapted well??hubby keeps telling me it is a great way of life, lol!!I would like to give it a go but the fact my family here is an issue for me??would like to hear from peeps who have left family behind and started somewhere new??

.

Okay so I will just have her fill in the transfer and sign it herself??

I CANNOT believe I have all these dastardly palominos now LOL!! There is no stopping me now eh! Weezy, I have been chuckling all day

. I just can't believe I have 5 of the beggars now!

Hadfos; yep Weezy is right - we immigrated in 2004 and wouldn't go back to England.....ever!

Thanks everyone for the comments on the darker of the palominos; she really does have one heck of a back-end and I loved the fact that she had no white on her. She's going to be one big stocky mare when she grows up. I'll be keeping this one till she is at least 3. The other palomino may just work as a bribe to the lady whom I promised Breeze (Goldens palomino filly) to. Fingers crossed eh! I'm going to invite her over this week. The darker one has a far better dams side (as well as a stunning sires line) than the paler palomino.

Lovely horses!

On the owner thing it says I own my ponies, and I have done since i started buying my own at about 14, so i think it should be fine, although it could be different over there..
