I'm losing the will to live with my geldings cellulitis, and wondered if anyone has experience in getting rid of it! He's now had it for about 4 weeks, vet has been out on a weekly basis. He's been on antibiotics, steroids and bute. He's also had xrays and scans that came back clear incase there was an underlying issue. He's exercised daily at the moment, and turned out 24/7. As soon as antibiotics finish leg fills back up.

A horse at work had this once, it took a long time to get better. The vet had to break out some weird and wonderful, little used antibiotics, cost about 4K and that was 15 years ago!

Horse recovered completely.

ETA - he went onto soaked hay, huge stable, walked out as much as possible, bandaged, anti inflammatories.

What antibiotics is he on? My old boy had it and it took a couple of months to sort. Everytime he went on antiobiotics, finished the course, within 24-48 hours of finishing his leg was like an elephants again. The thing that knocked it on the head was Baytril. Pricey antibiotic but works!!! Insist they do an extended course - Fab had a months worth. I'd recommend at least a week after all looking ok, carry on!!
We also sweat wrapped with vets potion of flamazine and antibiotic, clingfilm, then bandage. His had burst out under the fetlock though.

ask your vet to carryout an antibiotics sensitivity/resistant test.

Also i found using iodine wash beneficial as well it will help with the external skin infection
