Anyone in the Midlands/Shropshire area know of an experienced and qualified remedial dog behaviour specialist?
Obviously when I google it I get a bunch of them but it would be nice to have someone who's been recommended!

My vet has recommended Kathryn Gillard of 'Mona dog training school' in Telford - 01952 770920. We're not starting for a couple of weeks yet but I'm told she's very good, has qualifications and several Crufts obedience champs to her name.

If you are North Shropshire, or prepared to travel a bit, Sarah Heath in Chester is very good, she's a european specialist in behavioural medicine. Her and her practice teach us vet students at Liverpool, and she does some of the other vet schools in the country as well - we've only had a few days of lectures with her, but I can't recommend her highly enough.

If it is an aggressive dog, please get someone experienced in dealing with such - not all 'behaviourists' can cope with real aggression.

Good luck x

Ditto this aswell. Alot of people who call themselves 'behaviourists' actually have no qualifications at all, and can make things so much worse. Sarah Heath is not only a vet, but the number of letters after her name kind of indicates the number of behavioural qualifications she has.

Depends a lot on the type of aggression, and the breed. I have known so called trainers who are fine with smaller dogs but have no idea how to deal with bigger breeds. Kathryn GIllard has a good reputation generally , she has been going for a long time. Murphy88 and I have had a few discussions re behaviourists

, Sarah Heath does seem to be highly thought of and is another with a good reputation, I am afraid I am old school and sometimes think you do have to get tough if a dog is being really naughty .
