Agility bods

I'm not a a fan of too many round the backs either. My lad is grade 6 but isn't the fastest so has to be revved up a bit, round the backs at the start of the course do not help !
 
As long as I didn't lose him to the tunnel between 6 and 7 small dog would have a good crack at this, he goes round the back of all of the things, all of the time. ? My old G6 dog would have struggled with many elements including the tunnel to long jump, weave entry and exit I think. There were only two clear rounds in the large jumping!

I was wrong, agility this afternoon:

 
We're having issues with sharp turns off the dog walk (he starts coming off higher and higher) and you'd really have to peel off there to take the correct side of 4 so we'd be stuffed early on. Rest of it's fine, been some odd wiggly lines taken into those weaves though.

Martin Reid's dog that's just run clear was in my G2 class at the same venue last month. ?

What sort of contact do you train and when/how do you reward?

He does running, essentially the Silvia Trkman method with a mat - I didn't do a very good job evidently! I was wary of introducing turns too early due to seeing somebody else's experience, they got it wrong and ended up with a 'creeper' even on a straight exit. Have since reintroduced the mat and started working around the clock face again.

Ah, right. We do stop contacts so my suggestion of always/only reward as they face front wouldn't be much use ? I'm not quick enough for running, the stop gives me time to think! but they are awesome to watch.
 
Martin Reid is a lovely chap. He used to be fairly local to us and I remember him as a teenager running a dog for my friend. He gave us all a big laugh when judging at a Christmas indoor show some years ago. All judges were in fancy dress. He was dressed in a skin coloured onesie (not sure if that is the right term). It was snowing and really cold. He did eventually concede and put a coat on.
