Agility Clubs In Manchester?

That sounds OK to me? If you go for a formal/official club you're more likely to have insurance cover, the right sized/scale equipment, health checks (IE insisting on certain vacs, not letting the dogs run the whole set of equipment before they are physically mature/fit) temperament testing and more likely to ask for/help with training the basic obedience requirements you need for agility, its more than just dogs jumping over things :)

I've had a quick look and Chadkirk seem to still be running, there is also Newton Heath ATC, which it seems trains Failsworth way, and Northern ATS, who are based at Oldham. Hopefully one of them will be able to help, as CC says you are best going with a decent club which will hopefully have instructors who know what they are doing, and well built, safe equipment.
