Can anyone explain it me please?

When I click on a show, it gives the option of beginner, novice, advanced or not entering.

I will obviously need beginner but how do you know what class to enter? There is no guidance to say at what point a dog stops being a beginner and becomes a novice?

Also there are heights large, intermediate, medium, small and micro. Can any size dog enter any size class? Like could a border collie do a beginners micro class if it was there first show for confidence building etc?

Then there is an option for 'tablet skills' and has tick boxes for ring manage, scrime and check in? What do these mean?

It then breaks it down and says entered for agility, jumping and steeplechase?

Someone help the confusion please.

Which show are you looking to enter on there? They host entries for lots of clubs/orgs who have different rules and regs, the information you need should be on the show schedule (under Show diary, not Enter a show).

Dogs must jump their measured height at KC, excepting specials like Anysize and Veteran, but beginner/novice/advanced won't be KC and an independent show may have different rules.

Tablet skills, scriming etc. is your offer of help to run the rings on the day - voluntary but encouraged, and absolutely optional for your first few shows until you know how it all works.

Agility will have contact equipment, jumping won't, steeplechase again varies by org but is likely to be a fast and flowing jumping course and may exclude weaves.

As blackcob says , those classes sound like an independent show , and their rules can vary . For a KC show your dog has to be measured before competing. What show were thinking of entering , we could maybe advise more people if we knew .
