A neighbour lends me her dog to train/agility whenever I want, which is lovely of her. We gave up on the training a while back, and just concentrated on agility. She could go seriously far in the agility world, IMO, but her personality just means she wouldn't cope in that environment, and it wouldn't be fair on her. She's very talented though, lovely soft coated wheaten. She is stunning too

My little westie gets very put out when cookie is around doing something she can't, so she had a go too.

We're just doing our second round of beginner agility. I need to get snappy with some photos!

Our teacher is amazing. She has ten dogs and her Border Collie, Logan, was a Grand Prix Finalist at the World Agility Championships last month. He came 7th.

I spent about £180 on agility equipment and trained my lhasa apso myself, she loves it but we dont get much chance to practice in the winter. When the ground dries up we go to the field to do it. I still need a see saw and an a-frame. Does anyone know any quality suppliers?

I love it. we train at club once a week and once a quater we have a club comp, and the club let us know of any local comps to take part in!
if you do a google search for aglity equiptment, theres loads of suppliers,! or ebay, theres a few people selling in there!

as for finding a club:
www.agilityeye.co.uk
www.agilitynet.com/activepages/clubs.asp

we have a few dogs in our club this year who have qualified for crufts! ..... ah,one day! MAYBE!

Used to do agility with my GSDs many years ago. I qualified my bitch for Crufts in a team event when I was 8 months pregnant (like a whale running round lol). It was a brilliant experience competing in the big ring though sadly we didnt win. My girl gave the aduience a laugh by standing on the table and appearing to study the crowd! It was very embarrassing at the time but could see the funny side afterwards.

I love your red merle collie, he's gorgeous.

Thanks, he's a pain in the bum!!! he was given to me almost 2 years ago, when he was 5 months old. He'd been dumped in a garden & left, not socialaised and pretty much left to fend for himself. I was told this woman was going to drown him if someone didnt take him off her that day (didnt know what he was) and he turned up 2 hrs later! I would never have gone out & got a collie as a 1st dog! we've made lots of mistakes with him, but he's OK. he tries VERY hard to be dominant over us! dont think it'd work tho if he didnt do agility or get to go to the yard to stretch his legs!

I've been doing agility for nearly two years now with my Jack Russells and Wirehaired Vizsla.

Started competing Mouse after 5months because my trainer at the time put on a club show and wanted everyone entered. We got eliminated

We did some local ones after she had her litter and got several clears in jumping, one in agility and a 7th in jumping (not bad when you consider there was 170 odd dogs in the introductory!) Have done 5 KC shows and come out with lots of Es and a 1st in agility so we're now Grade 2

Started competing Stanley in April, have had numerous clear rounds but no decent placings as he wasn't really running. Have left my club now and train with two friends who are qualified instructors and since then he rockets round - fingers crossed for next year.

I'd love to qualify them both for Crufts and Olympia.

Here's some piccies:
This is Stanley, we were at Leicestershire County Show doing the Alternative Grand National.

This is Mouse, not as many pics of her as she's too fast - hence her KC name is Fast and Furimouse!!!!

And a couple of videos of us out competing.

There weren't any faults or anything you just had to beat the person running next to you

Would love to do agilty with Tikka As I KNOW she would be great at it , I point and she jumps , I point and she stays , I point and she goes throw , Shes just brilliant , but the only 2 "MINOR" negatives is , Well shes not great with strange dogs to say the least plus we have nowhere near , not that I know of , around me that does it .

Shame really

Have you tried looking on www.agilitynet.com for a club? They have an A-Z list of clubs all over the place.

If you find a club I'd ring and have a word, you'd be surprised how many dogs in the agility world don't like strange dogs but manage to focus on what they're doing.
