Hi everyone

I hope to compete my dog Teddy in agility in the future, I think he would be good at it because he is very clever and very very fast!

He is one year old (turned one on the 7th March) and is a Border Terrier. He has learnt a few basics such as sit, stay and he knows how to run through jump stands in preparation for jumping and has jumped over a tiny tiny jump this week

He also has gone through 3 weaves poles slowly

Obviously I don't want to rush him so I was wondering when the best time is to join an agility class?

Here's Teddy in January showing his speedy-ness

Hi
Have a look at http://www.agilitynet.com/
That should have lots of info for you

There should be an A-Z of clubs in the country, some (or many) have waiting lists though - what part of the country are you in?
There is also a good forum off that website: http://agilityforum.agilityaddicts.net/

Once a dog is 12 months they can start their training (actual obstacles rather than foundation training such as going round wings etc

) - competing age is 18 months.

Hope that helps

Thankyou very much MarleyandDarcy!

Yes I knew about the no jumping until one year, he went over a teeny weeny jump this week as he's one now, can't wait until he can jump properly!

Thanks again, have already found 2 or 3 clubs in my area!

Join now! I'm starting agility training on Sunday, can't wait!!

They take beginners through to advanced, I'm sure most clubs are run in the same way.

(Your dog looks really cool btw!)

Warning! be careful--it becomes addictive! LOL.
I started in beginners with both Agility and Flyball and I now find myself travelling the country, starting at unearthly times of the morning, often taking the caravan for a w/e. Absolutely love it. The dogs soooo enjoy themselves
Enjoy
