Anyone out there who can share with me their experience of Ag Ties and how they might limit running a business on the land?

I'm considering buying a small rare breeds centre with shop & cafe, and hoping to diversify by having a campsite, tack shop, and renting out some of the buildings to other businesses.

Do we have a chance at getting permission to do these kind of things?

The property is in a protected area, and we have been told there is no chance of getting the ag-tie lifted

thanks folks

You should be able to find the conditions of the tie in the planning permission of the property.
Since agriculture in planning terms is ' The term agriculture is prescribed within Section 336 of the Town and Country planning act. It includes horticulture, fruit growing, seed growing, dairy farming, the breeding and keeping of livestock including any creature kept for the production of food, wool, skins for fur, or for the purpose of its use in the farming of the land, the use of land as osier land, market gardens and nursery grounds and the use of land for woodland where that is ancilliary to the farming of the land for other agricultural purposes.
From what you are saying you will not be using any part of the land for 'agriculture' so you would have to check with your local planners if you would comply with the tie.
