I've been feeding the muesli for about 6 weeks now and am impressed enough (they all love it, even fussy foreign one) to try some of the other products. So stocked up on muesli and the Aspero today. I also bought some cobs (usually use high fibre nuggets but trying to cut out alfalfa). The guy at the shop said they only need wetting, not soaking.

I can't really figure out from the website if they only need soaking for oldies with worn teeth to not. Can anyone help?

I would soak them for an oldie, if you have access to hot water it is much easier to get the right consistency as they expand rapidly with hot water rather than taking 20mins or more to fully soak in cold. Just damping wouldn't be enough for poor teeth to cope with.

ETA I'm sure I found somewhere on their website that soaking is advised for poor teeth to reduce the risk of choking.

well, I have a 21yo but he's got no problems with his teeth. I don't really want to soak if I don't have to-if I do I won't get them again.I don't feed beet so I don't mind soaking stuff in the depths of winter but not otherwise.

I soak them overnight for my native but if I forget, then I just feed them wetted. I give them to the TB dry in her feedball, although I wouldn't feed them as a main feed dry. They expand really quickly in water and a few can make quite a good substantial feed. :)

If you use hot water they will 'soak' almost instantly. I wouldn't feed them dry after seeing how much they expand when soaked. They take forever to soak in cold water and I nearly ditched them because I didn't want to have to soak overnight, luckily I tried hot water and now they are ready by the time I've got my boots on and walked 30 yards :)

Mine are soaked overnight for breakfast. The water is about half an inch above the cobs and soak it all up really quickly.
