Apologies if this is a daft question, but is there much difference between between the Wiesencobs and the Alpengrun pellet? Both seem to be suitable for horses with digestive issues, high fibre, but provide energy? Currently feeding the latter but wondering if the cobs would essentially be the same but lower calorie? 🤔

The cobs are just grass and herbs. The pellets are like a pelleted form of the musli with all sorts of other things like linseed, carrots, beetroot, parsnip added.

The cobs will be lower in calories but maybe not as palatable.

Ahh thanks! He has FWS and sweetitch so I need him to eat supplements and despite being a cob he’s really fussy 😫 maybe best stick with the pellets. Guess I could always sample a 50:50 mix. Do you happen to know how long it takes the cobs to soak? The pellets soak up almost immediately

Ours absolutely love the Weisencobs. They don't take long to soak up the liquid, 5 mins at the most. We feed with Aloe Vera juice, water, salt/Vit E as required

When Agrobs was first available, a local feed store had samples available. Mr princess diva tb tried these. He nibbled at the weisencobs with limited enthusiasm, said he'd as soon eat the plastic bag as eat the áspero and leitchgenus and announced that musli was the best thing ever and any attempt to deny him would result in hunger strike.

The Musli has got so expensive that I stretch it out with Grasstastic but I need to get the proportions right.

He doesn't really like mashes, I can sneak in some copra if there's enough chaff.

And we don't talk about the time I bought some cheap Decathlon treats.

It takes a good 10-15 mins for the cobs to soak properly if using cold water ime. Warm water speeds it up a lot.

My cob loves them (also has sweetitch and has many powders).

Yes, though not massively so. I bulk mine out with oat straw chaff.

If he's fussy I could send you some to try?

Local feed store in Herts (Titmuss) stocks it, always has. Equisupermarket is their online arm.

Still paying £28 for something that was £18 a couple of years ago. Luckily Grasstastic is only £11.70 so that stretches it out.

It's not a bother - I've just opened a new bag. I know how annoying it is to buy a big bag and for them to turn up their noses at it.
