Hi everyone, I do not know If you have seen my other thread, but basically I have a pony that has been on stall rest and will be ridden again soon. I have never clipped before, but I was thinking about it because she will be doing light work this winter and the last thing I want is for her to overheat or sweat when its cold out. I am not sure what kind of clip to do, or even if I really need to... Tips will be greatly apricated. :)

My go to clip is a line from stifle, to girth, shoulder, up neck to throat. This line can be higher or lower as required. Start lower and you can take more off if needing more. If he has been on box rest and now starting work I think I would wait to clip so you don’t have added just clipped freshness.

I wouldn't clip straight from box rest you could end up having a very fresh horse to ride, wait until your at least a few weeks in and the horse is calm the horse won't sweat much from just walking, then once you start trotting just do a small bib clip and see how it goes.
