Thin plastic meat trays, I mean the really thin, wobbly, not rigid kind, will they do any harm?
Bella has just torn hers apart but I only found two small pieces left of B's so I assumed he scoffed the lot.

Things to look out for? Should I be worried? Would have been about two hours ago and B has done a sloppy one since. They are both in the house now so I can keep an eye on them.

Bella has eaten all sorts of crap before and they have demolished rubber bones before now, not that it was under my watch, ho hum.
They seem to pass any haylage they have been eating off the lane soon enough too

And the next time you hear me saying 'Oooh, you should have kept that sort of thing out of reach, naughty naughty, you have to watch them like a hawk etc etc etc', feel free to give me a slap and tell me to shut the hell up.

I feel so DUMB!

I'm in same situation

Ellie thieved Floras dummy from the hall on friday and ate the rabbit skin off it!
crazy.gif
so slapped wrist for me to!
I have been told with blockages not to panic too much unless they are sick alot in a short period, are bleeding from either end, very bloated, showing major pain signs (crying out, not walking right). Ellie is eating and drinking but not very comfy today and can't poo! I am just monitoring her closely for any deterioration, it's truley amazing what they manage to pass on their own!!
With B eating tin foily stuff the major thing I would be looking out for now is signs of bleeding as it's sharper than a rabbit skin!
Ets, I'm checking gum colour and hydration every hour!
I'm good at this blockage stuff after poor little acorn and her non existent digestive system!
Edited again to say; that sounds bad, she never had a blockage having eaten something...I'm not that bad of an owner! She actually had no normal small intestine.

It's really thin wobbly plastic if that makes sense? Not tinfoil.
The packaging Tesco does for kidney/liver, lalalalala, wasn't my fault, I promise.....lid already removed.

I'm the gal who had a dog who swallowed two pairs of tights when I should have been watching, you think I'd have more sense
crazy.gif

They are both sprawled out on the carpet spark out, so I am not going to check their gums right now and they both had a drink when they came in.

I'll maybe starve them in the morning, gah, I am such a numpty.

If it's like that foamy stuff I wouldn't have thought it would cause too may problems really, it breaks up small enough without sharp edges so I'd just watch out for multi-coloured poop over the next few days and starve the little sods in the morning just in case.

It happens!
smile.gif

Oh I know the stuff you mean. I'm sure they will be absolutely fine, just keep an eye. You are not a numpty!
grin.gif
Mainly cos that makes me one too!
tongue.gif

Not foam either, gah, a bit like this? Only without the lid. Not rigid, the liver sort of sloshes about and the sides of it move, if you hold it in one hand it flops.

Bella had torn hers up into tiny pieces so I am hoping B did something similar before he swallowed them. I was on my hands and knees in the dark feeling around in his kennel in my jammies
blush.gif
and I could only find two bits
blush.gif
whereas Bella has obviously not eaten hers.

Cheers folks, B is sighing a lot but it may just be 'awesome, I am sleeping in the house' noise, and Bella is practically upside down with her legs in the air so hopefully my panic is unfounded....

I'm sure he'll be fine, starve him in the morning, give his belly a good old prod and squeeze to check he's not uncomfortable and watch his poop like a hawk.

Henry ate something vile out of the bin in the bathroom a while back and he is ok... I on the other hand am traumatised... but that's another story!

I'm not saying, suffice it to say I nearly hurled
crazy.gif
And sent him back down the stairs pronto with a flea in his ear!
a015.gif

He is the most gross dog I have ever known, it's true... then people wonder why I squeak when he tries to lick my face and refuse to let him sleep on my bed....
crazy.gif

I think i am traumatised just by reading this!
shocked.gif

Cavecanem, i am sure he will be fine, like others have said, just keep an eye on him for signs of discomfort. They seem to have the constitution of an ox though so prob nothing to worry about.
Hope he is ok. xx

I can guess...blech!

Just had a good old poke, B is a bit more distended than normal but not blown out and tummy is sounding very interesting
blush.gif
but not in major pain or discomfort when I put pressure on it. He thought he had died and gone to heaven when I went in for extended fun tickles!

Bella is a bit porky on it anyway so I don't feel any major difference and as I say, too smart as usual and didn't swallow much.

Why do u advise people to feed their dog plastic trays then
smirk.gif
ha ha u spenk.
Im sure 2 beasties like that can get those trays through their system....pooh watc duties for you.
It usually takes a few days for froeign body signs to show, trying to puke, depression, tender tummy, off food, loose faeces, but im sure yours will be fine

No, it was just that at one of the classes, one of the other puppy owners began saying ''What should I do to stop my bitch from eating *insert basically anything that lies on the ground, looks yucky and fits in her mouth*?'' Then someone else said ''Oh my dogs eat ...

And eventually the trainer said that she was struggling with her youngest dog too, a Golden Retriever only a few months older than ours, because her dog had a fetish for polystyrene. The trainer had now reached the level where she did not get much worried about it any more but she also had developed a habit of constantly searching the surroundings to detect any pieces of polystyrene and yet the dog managed to find pieces before she did.

Somehow a dog with a fetish for eating polystyrene stuck out and got stuck in my memory.

Fingers crossed Bodo and Bella will be okay tomorrow.

Thanks Finny, I think Cayla was more taking the mick out of me!!!

I gave them too much credit for intelligence, I think - 'Oh, they will eat the goodies, and leave the containers, and I will pick them up in a minute', then got busy filling in a form, remembered, went out to collect them and...whoops!

Ah, good news.

Someone just dropped a bad one, URGH!!!!!!

Woohoo, congratulations!

Or well, not that it is nice when they drop a bad one but you know, better that than that it doesn't come out because it is stuck.

grin.gif

Just another thing - I will starve them in the morning but was planning a ten mile walk as I am working a late shift and then giving them a raw chicken carcass each at about 3pm to keep them going....would that still be OK?

Dear lord ...u had me worried when I saw another swallowing question
shocked.gif
tongue.gif

Well I would still walk mine....mind u not 10 bloody miles, what are u, some kind of athlete
crazy.gif

The more u walk the more u will loosen them up to pass that plastic
grin.gif

I wouod also feed mine as usual in the afternoon, mind u my feed time is more like 6-7pm, I would like to see some motions being passed before hand though if poss.

OK, maybe eight
tongue.gif

OH has gone home and he doesn't know one end of a dog from the other!

Ah this is the life, supping red wine, watching The Sky At Night, watching dog's midriffs and holding my nose from all the smelly farts
blush.gif

what that strange bloke with the monacle thingy/ summit in his eye
grin.gif
grin.gif
cool.
Could u maybe do 5 miles....my thinking is if they did begin to puke afterwards and become ill or dehydrated they will have no energy or fluid left
smirk.gif
tongue.gif
grin.gif
after your triathlon with them
grin.gif
grin.gif

I doubt anything will happen, but maybe a bit less milage whilst the old system is recycling (literally) the plastics
