When this happened to me I phoned the New Business number (as it is a freephone number rather than a local call rate) they then passed a message on and got someone to phone me back. They said that they were very busy but it's funny that the new business team answered the phone within 2mins!

It's bad enough having to wait let alone having to pay for the call whilst waiting.

No, my phone cut out after 67 mins!

I did ring the new business number actually and a lady has passed a message for them to call me but we'll see!

A rather harsh letter has also just been posted due to my complete lividness!!

No options system im afraid- just call and wait..........................

I had exactly this problem with a subsidiary of PP, so eventually phoned the office of a different business above them and asked some very helpful blokie to nip downstairs and ask them to call me.
It shamed them into calling.
Later on, they overpaid my vet bill

and I left them a message saying 'If you don't call me back within 30 minutes I'll tell the vets to cash it' - amazingly quick reply!

I have NEVER had a problem with Petplan. Can't understand it, have got straight through every time and think they are head and shoulders above other companies. They have never quibbled on my claims and have paid out within a week most times, credit where its due. Sorry you have had problems.

They took ages to pay out for Cat, even tho it was all agreed between my vet & their vet beforehand (pts). I ended up crying for ages every time I rang them & even tho it's not logical, it made me feel really mercenary & cold being concerned about money & having to chase them.

Tried to insure Adrian (new horse) with them, & they lost my DD form & so kindly cancelled my cover. Rang customer svcs, they said nothing they could do, speak to sales. Rang sales, they said nothing they could do, speak to customer services. Fantastic.

I then gave up in irritation so am now uninsured & trying to get my heart high enough to have another go this weekend.

I'd never had any problems with them before recently either (and had been recommending them) , but have had a nightmare with my last claim, faxed the extra details through 4 times, eventually they agreed they'd received the fax (so it was probably me blocking the phonelines then, sorry!) but then still no payout a month later, so rang them to check and they are now claiming (AGAIN) that they haven't received the fax...
They also sent me a fab letter asking for more information from my vets and giving me a pre-paid envelope, but they failed to tell me what information they required, which was helpful!

There are other insurance companies, as they have been so poor in the past I wouldn't give them my money again

they refused to pay up for Dan last year because his last treatment was 2 days past the year all because of a delay getting a government license which we couldn't treat him without. He could not have been treated any earlier if we tried and they had agreed to the treatment when we initially applied for the license 6 weeks previously they wouldn't even pay for the drug. left me with a very large credit card bill which I am still paying off!!

Go with NFU next time, I've been with thenn for years, they always answer the phones promptly, have always paid out. I've never had any problems & neither have any of my friends who insure with them either.
