Sorry in need of a rant..
Was at the yard tonight and went to get my girl n her field mate in.. The field she's in is on the drive way up to the stables. Me n my friend saw someone driving towards us from the stables so we made the girls wait by the gate of their field.. The old git turned his lights off (fair enough) but carried on driving towards us.. Our mares spooked he drove into a ditch and not waiting he could clearly see two big 16hh + horses dancing around he proceeded to rev his engine trying to get out the ditch.. We couldn't go anywhere as the girls was going mental (wind and car revving)
Is it me or are fellow horse owners sometimes the most stupid and dangerous people behind the wheel of a car around horses?
Sorry for moaning
Yard owner is on holiday so couldn't rant to her

The old git - how old is he? Sounds like he might be losing his grasp - you need headlights to see where you are going so if you then turn them off, you are effectively blind so you certainly don't proceed.

I have to agree though that horse people don't seem to have much sense around other peoples' horses. My mare had a thing about trailers of any size at all. Put her past fire engines, HGVs , tractors, anything but a trailer really alarmed her. Was hacking out one day and some stupid woman in a 4x4 (a bad start in my opinion anyway) came flying past us with an empty Williams on the back, bouncing about all over the place. Poor mare had hysterics.

70's maybe... the worst thing of all is his granddaughter was riding around the farm last night in the pitch black (6pm) with no high viz or lights.. going through the woods etc. yet she says her pony goes bat **** crazy when he sees head lights. y ride him in the dark then... one she cant see where shes going two others cant see her n three how does she know where his putting his feet? accident waiting to happen with that family.
