sorry this would be my first rant honest!!
lady and her daughter came to look at my brothers pony today, we rang up to this ad
Nice natured mares wanted for private breeding. Large field and stables with countryside surroundings. Would consider mild lameness/slight nervousness. Good bloodlines unimportant. No pure TBs. Other breeds considered. Good conformation needed. 13.3hh16hh. Desirable qualities; good to catch, trim, box etc., but not essential. Must be able to live out with a rug. Limited funds available, but will give some money for a nice broodmare. Ideally free to good home, as they will receive lots of love and attention in an experienced home. Hertfordshire area, will travel surrounding counties.
o.k this is her story, we are selling her as a broodmare/ Hapyyhack as she has very slight arthritis in her hock, this was only diagnosed this year as we took her to a lady to sell for us as me and my mum do not have the time and my brother was in the middle of GCSE's but the school wasn't very good so she rode her in the field hard nearly every day and one day she came out slightly lame so we call the vet out who said ok lets take some x-rays to see whats going on,
the x-rays showed some were and tare in the hock, but the vet said she could do everything but not compete every weekend like she was
we had her up for £4.000.00
but we have now decided to sell to a loving home who just wants a happy hack or a broodmare and we are asking £1.000.00
so we emailed the above people back and said ok if you like her we will let you have her for £600.00 (just so she could go to a nice home as this is more important)
so they arrived this morning, we were thinking they wanted a broodmare so mum said would you like to see her on the lunge trot up etc?
daughter replys oh no i want to ride her so mum says ok and tacks her up, (the pony hasnt been ridden since october due to lack of time) the daughter walks around a couple of times then asks for trot up the long side, pony goes into a very slow jog trot daughter shouts out oh i don't even know what pace that is ???
so mum explained she needed to go more forward she was only trotting very slowly, so she pushed her on and got a very nice trot, daughter then stops and says to her mum do you want ago mum replys no but can we hack her,
(my) mum replys yes but she hasn't been out in a while
anyway they return with the daughter walking (never a good sign!!)
mum says oh thats not a good sign
Daughter replys no how would you like it if a the pony rears and bucks with you (pony is always been very good to hack & went out last weekend and was fine), she continued she needs more work or you should really sell her as a broodmare
me and my mum were horrified i can't explain how rude she was this kid was 16/17 years old
we replyed to a broodmare ad ??
what a complete timewaster
on the plus side of things i did ride Lottie for 10min and she was a complete star!!
(we did only walk though with two long sides of trot!)
chocolate cookies to anyone who got this far but i needed to get it off my chest
thanks
