i have just spent the last hour looking for YO dog! (live literally 100m from yard) this little terrier, decided that it would like to go hunting and go kill something. when i heard itbarking i thought that it had got stuck in a drain or something (has tendancy to do that) so off i went to investigate.
as my YO is away on hols i checked the house to see if the dog was there and she wasnt! so then i turned on the arena lights and hacked my way through the hedge on the other side... shouted for dog and more barking, so i moved cautiously...
no idea what a fox sounds like when its being attacked so was also quite scared! the fog was setting in and seeing distance was about 10m in front. no dog in first field so went under some barbed wire to next field. called for dog and it had moved away!
so trudged on trying to miss the cow pats and trying to avoid the rabbit holes, called again. still no dog

crossed another 2 fields (each field about 8 acres) and had to finally give up as seeing distance had closed to 5m.
went back and then the gunshots started

so rushed to YO house and got her son to come out with me, but as soon as reaching the areana the dog came bounding over knocking me down

Sorry but that's so funny!!

We spent over an hour on sunday looking for my elderly lab who'd wandered off, after an hour or so I was getting worried, was walkng up the drive feeling pretty wretched when my friend pointed laughing, turned around and she was strolling up the drive after me, looking pretty smug....

Took my dog out riding with me as usual last week, he never usually strays far from me, but got a bit left behind, so I stopped and called - waited, waited, went back to find him - no dog. I went up and down this field about 10 times shouting, still no dog!
Anyway, in the end I went home thinking I'll come back on foot, little sod is sitting on the doorstep! As it happens I was halway round the ride but actually not far from home, as it is like 2 loops, so the little monster must have thought he'd lost me and just taken himself home!
