I'm aiming- NO GOING- to take my boy to Cricklands on the 13th to our 1st show together and I don't think he's done many at all before either.
Problem 1 - he has now been turnout out 24/7 and in the excitement of a new field pulled BOTH fronts shoes off- farrier booked for Monday.
Problem 2 - after afor mentioned turnout he now resembles a hippo! I've ordered a stretchy hood and some turnout chaps so hopefully he will stay cleanish over night.
Problem 3 - Last time i loaded him he was a pickle and we had to gently sweep him in with a broom. So have bought a prikly broom and booked Mum to come sweep him if needs be.
Problem/worry 4 - I have no clue how he's going to react to the show atmosphere let anone jump when he gets in the ring- planning to trot around the 2'3 to start and go from there.
It would be SO easy to say 'oh I can't be bothered', but I WILL go and we WILL have fun and hopefully it will be the 1st of many competitions!
Pointless post but am using as a sort of contract with myself - now I've voiced it all in public - i can't back out.
