Brought my young horseback into work about 3 months ago after having winter off due to me having an arm injury. Bought the saddle with her but decided about a month ago to get it checked as she had changed shape. Well the saddler came and said it needed lifted in front which I got done. Well since the saddle has been reflocked her behaviour has went down hill spinning, bucking not standing for me to get on (oddly enough she will stand to let me on from the wrong side). I have also noticed that she is getting wrinkles on her shoulders in front of the saddle espically when she is trotting.

Someone at yard said that wrinkles on her shoulders was nothing to do with the saddle and that she was just being cheeky, she is the full of attitude type!! My instincts say the saddle is the problem but what do you think? Has anyone else seem wrinkles in front of a saddle when the saddle fitted.

Are you putting the saddle in the right place? Sounds obvious but most people put it too far forward. You need to feel for the shoulder blades and make sure the points of the tree sit behind the shoulders, not on top of them. it is a very common thing for the saddle to be put too far forward, particularly if you just go by sight and not feel

No I dont think I am putting it too far forward, I asked the saddler when she came out as i had doubts in my head about where I was placing the saddle, its the first dreassge saddle ive owned
