I'm soooo nervous, I have so much to do before tomorrow and I feel sick sick sick! Gosh I'm such a giant wimp, it's only another dog show I know. :o
OH didn't help last night by butchering the blooming dog when cutting one her claws waaaaaaaay to short  I was almost physically sick (not because of the blood I'm good at stuff like that usually, just because he had hurt her I think) and then we had a huuuuuuuggggggeee bust up with lots of sweary words and tears from me! EEK! :(
Bleurgh, I may pass out in the ring tomorrow....wonder if we will get on tv if I do! LOL

GOOD LUCK!

You'll be grand, and remember, nerves travel down the lead (that is why I am such a ****e showring handler :p)

I remember how bloody queasy I was the night before the BH and I went and bloody passed it. I could actually hear all the Hardcore Working People at the side of the field hissing 'No! Not like that!' and 'Stop moving your hands!'.

Me to the judge: "Really? Are you joking?"

You'll fly it, don't worry! I want to see a BOB rosette!!!

A BOB rosette??!?! No pressure then!!! She's only a baby remember! ;)
I will be happy just to get placed in our class, I have this sinking feeling we wont be although I have done no judge research to back that feeling up.
I'm looking forward to seeing who gets BOB this year, everyone seems to think Yogi is a foregone conclusion but I wouldn't be suprised if his son Coast took the title from him this year. I think Yogi is still very hotly tipped for the BIS.
Flora thankfully is a true pro, she has won lots of titles with absolutely no help from the jibbering wreck on the other end of the lead! I don't know how she does it, totally calm and composed!

Ah, you never know! I've seen a 6mo minor puppy take BIS at one of our top breed shows - everyone grumbled at the time (the Germans would NEVER place a baby so highly at home, their judging structure doesn't even work like that) but she is now an Int Ch so the promise was there!

Good luck Vizslak - Once you get there and get going, you'll forget about the nerves and if you don't, it sounds like Flora will take care of you anyway. :)

Thanks guys, I'm finally nearly all ready.....nearly, just gotta sort myself out now :o
Galupy, I'm banking on the second of your scenerios I think! I have always thought I would be fine once in the ring and the nerves would go but past experience at important shows has told me actually I get worse!! LOL
Hopefully my little Dory will take care of me!! :D :o

Fingers crossed for you!!

That is appalling :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Go Vizslak, dont be nervous, you will be fine :):):) Once you've been a few times you will realise that only the general public think Crufts is anything special :p

You should have been ringside.....the puppy dog at one of the Championship shows last year (I took pics...) took CC and BoB because the judge said he was the only male in the line up of correct size. So if he is the correct size at nine months...you do the maths!!!!!!

Sorry for hijack Vizzie, but if it stops you thinking about how nervous you are :p

Don't do what I did and mix super-coffees with Natracalm tablets, whoops :o

Was that an all rounder or a breed judge? What a bloody idiot, should be banned from giving out tickets, how to make a complete ar*e of yourself very quickly....

A German. They seem to be obsessed with height limits at the moment, that and light eyes?????

That's the thing, that would just not happen in Germany, not ever, only dogs over 2 years are eligible to get top honours, and even then in the bigger shows they have to present a progeny group and have working qualifications, but they think it is OK to come over here and do that.

That's one of the benefits to moving to their system, where youth dogs can go no higher than a their best youth or young dog titles, so they can't come over here and put huge pressure on pups!

I would be embarrassed to take a BIS with a pup!
No probs with hijacking! All distractions welcome :D

Why would you even go in the best dog/best bitch running? I would withdraw or if I was a judge, I would ask the pups to withdraw and thank them for competing, that was the case up until a few years ago!

To be fair I have always taken Flora in for best bitch just for the experience and to get her seen and known never really contemplated what I would have done if a judge was dim witted enough to pull us out 1st!

Ha ha I bet whoever asked him/her to judge had egg all over their face, and I bet they will never be asked over to judge again :D What a moron :D

You would have accepted the ticket gracefully of course, said thank you very much, and never bothered entering under that particular judge ever again :D

To be fair the owners were a bit affronted.

No, he is pretty well respected, the guy who put up the baby puppy, even more so.

There's nowt as queer as...foreigners :p

ETA There was a big article about the trend in one of the breed magazines, it caused such a hoo ha, and the author pointed out that in every case, the animal in question turned out to be either a champion or an international champion.
But at the end of the day it sets a very bad example and could you live with yourself if the superstar baby turned into a donkey at 18 months, as many dogs have done?

GSDs turn into donkeys?!! Who knew?! :p All the more reason to have a spangle :D

(p.s Good luck Vizslak! Just think about GSD mutating into fluffy donkeys and you'll be fine :D)

Have you seen my fella? He bears an uncanny resemblance :D

Our last bitch morphed from quite a promising puppy, so much so that her owners brought her over from Nottingham, into a heifer, which is why we were able to buy her for half the price they did, hahaha!

Errr, cheers Hen...I think! Good luck to you too, will try and spot you and the curly poof! :D
Last post tonight, early start and I'm still not blooming ready yet!
Thanks for all the good luck vibes!
:o

Sorry--a bit late as didn't get on line yesterday (was cornflaked after Crufts all day) but huge good luck vibes for you. Enjoy the day. Looking forward to hearing your report.
