Was going to sneak in quietly, but no, I am back with a rant.

Just saw two Duke of Ed teenagers sidle past the kitchen window (passing a 'PRIVATE' sign, of course).
Went out to find them half climbing over the sides of the exercise pen, peering down at the dogs and trying to take pictures of them (they were going mental)

Me: Er, guys, please don't do that.
Boys: We were just having a look
Me: Er, they're quite territorial and they don't know you, please don't come to the back of the house again.
(Not what I wanted to say in my head...)

ARGH!

Anyway, apart from that, I had a nice holiday, hope you are all well, mutts especially!
I am going to take them out for a wee walk now to calm down, I am actually shaking with rage!!!
 
Wow - you were a lot more restrained than I would have been!! Glad to hear you had a good holiday - welcome back!

And here I am again, was hoping to say I feel better but I don't....calmed down, took dogs out on leads for some one-to-one introductions to prove they aren't actually slavering beasts, went really well and they behaved beautifully.

Then I took them out and realised the folly of unleashing a dog who has neither seen me or been off lead for two weeks, as I saw him disappear into the undergrowth after a pheasant.

Well, after fifteen minutes of me shouting myself hoarse, composing letters of apology (and compensatory cheques) in my head to all the local farmers and trying to urge Miss Thing to magically become imbued with the skills of a Schutzhund III tracking dog, he reappeared, chest heaving, covered in mud and grass seeds and slightly lame on one front leg.

On the bright side, he had no blood on him so hopefully there will be no queue of local sheep farmers or gamekeepers lining up to fill him with buckshot.

SOMEONE is gonna get his ass whupped at training tomorrow....


(PS, that last was a joke. Honest.)
 
God, I feel like saying 'get orf my laaaand' every day, tis a pity my mother is a gregarious entertainer and I am a reclusive shrew
