You might have to spend a bit more and be careful , ours was only £12,000 for an R reg but then 8 months later failed the plate and cost £2,000 to get it through .This year we sent it to a garage to get it sorted and they took it.Didn't need much doing but bill still £500.
Expensive toys. Good luck

My friends both have a Ford Iveco, E Reg and never spent more than £500 on their plating??!!!!!! Dont scare me!!!! R reg is fairly new in my books!!!!!!

My old lorry is a Ford Iveco and we were really lucky with it - never cost a huge amount to get through the plating. Its a 'D' reg and we tried to sell it in the summer for £4k - no-one wanted it cos of its age.

New lorry had its plating and had to have new brake cylinder and cost a bleeding fortune - its an R reg.

I think its just luck sometimes. Is there no-one on here selling anything - at least you know they will be honest with you?

Do know what else was really odd... when I was looking for a new lorry I had £25k to spend - a real fortune in my books and only mine cos of an inheritance. Could I find anything? No .... took me ages.

Good luck hun.... and BE PATIENT!!!!!

Mine is 8ft high and 8ft wide, a leyland daf built to take three but i only take two and keep tack and water etc in the other partition. It has a small living which is very comfortable and has everything i need. I have had it nearly a year, it is an H reg and cost me £6000. It cost me £100 to get through its plate last month and i absolutely love it!
I know one day it will cost me money but it just shows they dont have to cost a fortune.

We have a g reg Ford cargo which we have had for over 10 years. It is a good wagon but the problem with Ford Cargos is the availability of bits which are getting very scarce ... we have a very good garage who looks after our wagon for us and they have advised us that when we replace we should go for a Leyland Daf. The other thing to bear in mind is that repairing trucks always tends to be more expensive than you expect ..

I am trying to be patient!! Yes, I have heard Cargo parts are difficult to come by.....I just need one before the summer season comes round or I will be grounded.........poo!!!!!!

you can buy mine!!! old but reliable but living needs some TLC fits my 17h2 giant with room for hayledge/straw. Aint anything special but does the job, got to get it in for its plate now (due before end month) but nothing should be issue once had good service. I suspect though you want something a bit prettier and a lot younger as afterall he is an 'A' plate!!!

I found it a nightmare when I was looking for mine a good few years ago. It took a while and lots of looking but I got there in the end and I'm really pleased with what I got - a Leyland DAF 45 with day living and takes 3 horses easily, or 2 with loads of room for tacking up etc. It has been a reliable workhorse for me for the past 5 years, never lets me down.
I'm going to upgrade soon though so might be selling it....... (will be more than £9k though!)

Yup, done horsequest......
Jul......how much more!!!!!!! Do you have 5 years worth of records for repairs/plating etc...what you have had to change etc......??? PM me if you want instead and let me know!

they are a fotune, we started off having a 5k budget, which then increased to 12k then about 15k and still couldnt find anything, hence having ours built by thorpe horseboxes.

Stop scaring me!!!!!!!!!
