Will magnetic boots make a difference in recovery from a tendon injury?

Are there any supplements that will make a difference?

Will turnout boots and sports medicine type wraps help support his fetlock/tendon and prevent further injury when and if he's able to be turned out or hacked?

Sorry for the continuing questions and a huge thank you to everyone for their kind words and support.

When we first put daughters pony out after tendon injury we were told no boots etc(she had been walked from box rest etc)She went lame again next time put her out with bandages as felt these were more supportive than boots but were taken off when she came in to stable.Eventually took bandages off in field then basically left her on field rest for rest of year to let nature do her job.Touch wood shes been fine since, back jumping etc.
Magnetic boots would be ok as would encourage blood flow to area (as long as no open wounds)We used them and think they helped.

The research on this is very limited, but anecdotal evidence suggests that magnetic boots are beneficial. Massage will also help, as will anything that stimulates the circulation. You might want to contact your local physio (www.acpat.org) to see if they can suggest some home exercises that you can do specifically targetted towards recovery for your horse, as every situation is different. But as always, time is the best healer!

Magnetic boots can be beneficial, but obviously there is no scientific evidence to suggest this. and MSM is supposed to be very good for promoting blood flow and helping with soft tissue problems so again may be beneficial, i used it when i was my horse hurt his check ligament. Also the body needs high quality protien to heal muscle and tendon fibres, not necessarily lots of protien just high quality. Top spec feed balancer is good for this and is also good as its grain free and obviously you dont want energy because your horse is on box rest, maybe try the leisure time balancer as this is designed for horses that arent doing alot of work.

Massage any swelling gently in an upwards direction towards the body. Magnetic boots and wraps and Global Herbs Tendoneaze.

My horse split his DDFT and manica flexoria and he had all of the above. He was not expected to be field sound and he has been ridden for the past 3 years without any problems.

I was also recommended to give regular, light gentle exercise to help the new tendon fibres align up otherwise, the new fibres are laid down randomly by the body and are not so strong.

My horse is a case study in Global Herbs Tendoneaze on their website.

My horse has also had a tear in her DDFT which was diagnosed via MRI last september, its right within her hoof and this was the only way to find what was wrong with her. Shes on NAF Msm and has egg bar shoes on now after wearing wedges. She went for her re-scan yesterday and the tear has healed extremely well, we have been doing handwalking 2/3 times daily for the last 2-3 months. I havent used any boots except for some stable wraps in the very cold weather, and I do have some magnetic boots which I havent actually used. Not sure why really.. I am to start riding her from next weekend to aid the recovery now, cant quite believe it after all the box rest (since last April for various reasons) I have got her some Eskadron tendon boots for support when we start hacking out but Im going to check with vet first as have since read that boots can heat the tendon up which you shouldnt do. Maybe someone else knows more about this than I do on hho.?
