Anyone got any? Was looking at some at Burghley and was disappointed with the Premier Equine ones as they would only work if you lined up the webbing with the actual holes and if the velcro straps were a little short or long on your horse then they wouldn't work. Also looked the NEW ones and Dalmar - anyone any experience of these or have any other suggestions?

I've got the NEW ones - not particularly protective (they're not the ones with allround protection - but NEW do make them).

I'm not a huge fan of boots to be honest as Governor's legs fill, and surface from the school always ends up in them. I didn't notice a massive difference with these but his legs did feel cooler and a less puffy than usual after work with 'normal boots'.
 
Dalmar are in blunt terms the muts nuts.

Having owned the tendon boots I now wouldn't use anything else on my horses. Compared to NEW and certainly Premier equine they are in a totally different league.
 
Mmmm I know what you mean about surface/mud getting inside boots. Having read various research about 'normal' boots/bandages heating tendons to up to 40 degrees during fast work I am now thinking I ought to be looking for an alternative.....
 
Yes they are some of the most expensive boots you can buy without the brand factor (say Amerigo tendon boots!)

The Tendon boots set you back around £79.99 and the air cooled eventer boots are £69.95 (Olney saddlery)

Although I do frequently web ferret for them and was gutted to loose a full set including fetlock boots on eBay that went for under £24. My sniping program fell over and I haven't forgiven it since!

I will have to check some of these out,i am looking for some boots for my girl for protection and support for xcountry mostly.
 
Dalmar boots are absolutey fantastic, my sister's event pony did this to a jump whilst wearing them and there wasn't a scratch on him (In fact he didn't even pause on landing and jumped clear

were some snazzy bandages in Olney Saddlery catalogue in H&H as well that were stating air cooled etc etc - schooling etc? Must admit it is worrying to learn that by booting yr horse up you could be damaging the tendons long term through overheating them - to boot or not to boot is now my thought each time I ride.
 
Have heard that the dalmar boots are good fit on horses with skinny legs, so haven't had the chance to try on our grey (she has 9" bone). Have looked at them carefully though and seem not very well finished off if you know what I mean. The dalmare tendon boots seem much better made then the event/racing boots. As you say - they are an expensive option, you would like them to fit well and be v hard wearing. I have three pairs of the equiflect boots and really rate them for protection and toughness, but obviously not air cooled.
What about the NEW airflow boots?

Loving the Dalmar but havent bought any yet - must resist!

Am a huge fan to NEW boots!

Horse Health Wessex were selling the Dalmar boots with money off if i remember rightly - check out their website.
