Akhal Teke

I think they are fabulous like horses from a dream there were a couple on the yard when I was living in Turkey they were tough and hard but feisty indviduals .
The best ones cost £££££££ if I could afford one I would have one in an instant.
 
They have always sounded like "dream horses" to me. Is it Turganev who wrote "the River Runs to the Sea"? There are just the best descriptions of a cossacks link with his horse in that book.
As a child, I always wanted to see a metallic coated horse. :) They may be different, but there is something about them I am drawn to.
 
I agree they are very different for what we look for in a horse in the west (as is an arab, which I will admit I am less fond of) but I just think they have so much presence!! Absent is amazing, I would have a whole yard full of them given the chance.
