Hi all, iv been using happy hoof but would now like to swap to a complete molasses free diet so I'm thinking off L mix, iv looked into fast fibre but tbh I don't like the mash and the mess it makes so has anybody tried L mix? How do you get on with it? Or any other ideas? I'm quite surprised the amount off sugar some off these laminitic feeds have.

Depends on why you are feeding tbh.
Our oldie had Allen and Page cereal and sugar free mix, and Safe and Sound.
Now dengie have a molasses free hi-fi I would probably plump for that.

L Mix has to be soaked in the same way that Fast Fibre has. My horse refused to eat it!!!!!

I had a nightmare with mine finding a low-sugar feed as he hates garlic and alfalfa. The best 2 I have found are Spillers Cool Fibre and Mollichaff Calmer. They do have a SMALL amount of molasses but not enough to cause fizziness so long as you don't feed loads.

Top Spec Topchop lite is absolutely fantastic, really natural and no molasses at all. Unfortunately my horse won't eat that either! It's better than Dengie Molasses free which has a lot of oil in.

Thanks, sorry forgot to say my boy is laminitic so need to watch what he eats, topspec topchop he won't eat either. I didn't know you had to soak the L mix mind. I found a big lump off molasses in the happy hoof the other day and it's really put me off tbh. He's at a good weight so don't want anything to put weight on him just to mix his supplements in with

I dont think you do have to soak it, I saw a sample at Your Horse live and it was very long fibre based so mainly chaff with a few tiny pellets.
