Very sad news. His writing was so eloquent.

Very sad, he didn’t look all that well at Cheltenham last week. RIP.

No. Oh goodness, he will be so missed. Things will not be the same.

Loved him on The Morning Show with John Francombe, Lord Oaksey etc back in the day and try very hard to find his write up of the Melling Chase that Viking Flagship and Adrian Mcguire won back in early 90s.

Thoughts are with his family and connections.

Such sad news. He was a fantastic, genuine and emotional racing writer and presenter, always so eloquent. Such a gentleman . His love of racing and more importantly horses shone through. So often his words made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.He will be sadly missed, condolences to those close to him

I was wondering what age he was when I saw him at Cheltenham. Not old at all, gone far too soon.
Absolutely loved his writing and analysis of races.

That is so incredibly sad, just after he had his big day at Cheltenham. He was an absolute poet and a class of journalist that will never be seen again.
