most of us know he missed the olympics cos he broke his leg and then the marvelous Oki Doki was injured s well but i dont think that we might all have realised the extent of Albert injury. he was as lame as a cat walking the course at olympia last night.
it is good to have them both back intact.

It is good that he is back in the saddle as it sounds like a significant break.

Was anyone else taken aback at Tim Gredley's riding last night? In the first round he was "checking" at every fence - ie pulling hard on the reins repeatedly a few strides out for no apparent reason - and then the way he rode to one oxer in the jump off was appalling.

His horse, Omelli, was a saint but the same can't be said for Tim...

I didn't see last night's class, but I have noticed that Tim often "misses" early in the course. Not many horses are as willing and/or able to help as much as Omelli.

well i was there and to be fair there were 18 in the jump and it took the last to go to beat him, and he certinly doent 'check' anymore than ellen and she thrashed the field in the speed tonight by a clear couple of seconds.
its not pretty but maybe it looks worse than it is as surely the horses wouldnt out up with it at that level otherwise.

I'm not sure that many horses would put up with that. He was 2nd but there was little to be pleased about in either round, IMO. Tonight in the speed class he turned another lovely and helpful horse flat out on a non-existent stride and had a stop. Not a style to be aspired to in my book.

Interesting about Albert Zoer as I commented to SC who was with me that his balance looked out in places and that would explain why. I guess it will take months for him to get the strength back. Its also hard when you spend all day limping not to completely over compensate with one side of your body.

you dont need to tell me about limping, i spent eight months in various contraptions when i smashed my right leg to bits, had two reconstructive operations and still limp after riding with short leathers, hence why i am totally sympathetic!!
