Hey, anyone any feedback on albion k2 and slk ultima? which one is best in your opinion??? I know the slk is the top of range

SLK.... absolutely gorgeous to ride in - I cried when I had to sell mine as it no longer fitted horse!

I had a K2 and I liked it, although I did find I kept swinging my leg back
but that was prob me. I now have an SLK Ultima and love it and it's sorted my naughty legs out.

SLK ultima if you can or the SLK is very good too. They both have a deeper seat and bigger cantle than the K2 and seemed to keep my position much better. Sadly had to sell mine as it no longer fitted the horse either!!

none of them as if your horse changes shape slightly they dont fit anymore !!! which is not good when you have just paid nearly 2k for a saddle !!
I would rather get one that can be changed for that sort of money - have a look at a prestige !!! (they are also a lot nice to ride in)

Ultima Platinum, by far the best saddle I've ever had and completely adjustable!

im sure my friend had one of these and you would need to get a new plate made for it to change which is expensive x

I have the SLK, which i absolutely love. Very comfortable, and keeps my position good. Also when my horse is being sharp, which is quite often, it makes me feel really secure.

I've also got a platinum, and everyone who has sat on horse has commented on comfort of the saddle.
my understanding is that having the saddle width changed would cost several hundred, but compare this to the amount you lose selling a new saddle.

Thanks for all the replies, very interesting. Are all SLK Ultima's adjustible, no mention of platinum on their web site, have emailed them to check. Platinum sounds great! thanks

There's also the SL model, it has a flatter tree apparently - my mums horse was too flat and wide for an SLK.
The Platinum SLK is the only one thats adjustable, however ring Albion as I think they can put a new tree in for a large fee. (I think the Platinum change the head plate only).
Also try Saddles Direct, they usually have a good stock of 2nd hand Albions - as some of the previous posts state, horses grow out of them.
We've got a Sue Carson Harmony that's fully adjustable for the horse and rider via the use of Flair, but they can also adjust the width of the tree if needs be. We've already had 3 adjustments over 2 horses by the Yorkshire Rep.
