Hi there - I am just about to sell my daughter's lovely Albion GP as unfortunately it is a little wide at present for her new warmblood, who was very little topline/muscle atm, which makes saddle tip slightly and interfere with her wither. Lovely saddle in great nick so quite loathe to see it go, but horse comes first so fully prepared to do so, even though the only new one I can realistically afford will be a Bates (which my daughter has tried and doesn't like) or a K&M jump (which she does like), so not as nice as an Albion, so, before wave goodbye to said K2, I just wondered if it CAN be tweaked at all to make it a bit narrower for now, as hadn't considered this?

Anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks in anticipation :-)

I had leather pads put on the points when my mare lost a lot of condition after injury, so I had MW turned into a MMW!

So yes it can be done, only cost me £20 on top of re-flocking too!

Hi, I've had saddlers put more flocking into a saddle to make it fit so before you sell it it might be worth getting a good saddler out to see what they can do? Would be a shame because K2s are so lovely, I couldn't bear to part with mine!

Yes definitely, I use the saddle man, Andy Wheals and he will alter a saddle there and then, by adding extra flocking where required, and also alter the tree width. much cheaper solution, especially considering when the horse adds condition the saddle will possibly need to be wider again! You could also try Albion fitters, they should be able to alter the saddle.

Oh wow thank you, I might contact a saddler then to see what they think. I do love the Albions, even though think daughter is now hankering for a jump saddle now she's sat in one lol

Good to hear this as my saddler is out tomorrow to check my K2 (that I adore) - have been used to adjustable's thus far so it's a whole new world!

Hi, I spoke to Albion recently about how adjustable the k2 is and they said they can change the width fitting and make other adjustments.
Could be worth phoning them, I found them really helpful when I spoke to them.
