I've been trying to find a new saddle for my 14.2hh Connemara.

I have been searching for different saddles that would be suitable for hunting (so would be better to have a deeper seat!) and I found the Albion K2 GP and Jumping Models, as well as various Ideal Saddles.

Does anyone have any experience of hunting in any of the above or know a better alternative that I could buy second hand for under £750?

Thanks in advance!

I hunt / do everything in a K2 GP - its a great saddle and does the job well. If you know the width you need keep an eye on ebay as they do come up.

I used to have an Ideal GP for my old horse and now use a Albion K2 GP on my new horse. Personally I much preferred the Ideal. Unfortunately it didn't fit my new horse so I had to sell it.

New horse was difficult to fit and Albion was best fit for him but perhaps not the best fit for me. :(

I have an Albion K2 jumping saddle for my connemara and it worked well for my first time hunting. I love riding in it!
Also ditto angelbones, if you know the size look on ebay. It's where I got mine :)

Daughter has a Albion K2 Jump which she hunts, hacks, showjumps and XCs in - very pleased with it and seems to suit horse and rider well.

I have had three GP ideals and are fab had new one for each horse sadly lost one suddenly last summer so her 17 inch sits in cupboard doing nothing.
