I had an Albion Selecta, the very old saddle, on my previous horse. I used the jump knee rolls not the GP. The seat seemed very deep and although I am only 5’ 2” I am a bit long hip to knee. This saddle pushed me on to my fork and my knees slid over the knee rolls.
I now have a Jeffries F1 jump which has a less deep seat and is slightly more forward cut. The twist is different too but I’m not clear on how that works.
My riding is no better unfortunately but my comfort is!

For me, way back years before i was a fitter, it was too blocky, too much saddle. I ended up with a used Prestige after selling my K2 at a big loss.

Workshops in Walsall currently vary, we're back on 8 weeks manufacturing but Black Country and many others have been closed for some time, may be open again now, not sure.

Sbloom sent you a FB message, may be in the rejection folder :D

Ok ridiculous question as rode in an Ideal impala dual flap today and tried a friends Albion kontrol last week. Bear in mind I've never ridden in a jump saddle that I can recall or even any other saddle other than my monarch (which is technically a jump saddle but more of a VSJ) for about 6 years..

My knees aren't.. flush with the saddle? I feel like they are sort of opened and sticking out.. not sure how to describe it. With both saddles. I feel like I'm not "closed" on the saddle, is this normal!? I probably am making no sense lol!

Maybe I'm just overthinking it but I'm so used to my monarch.. I have a feeling the K2 may well feel more similar to the monarch...
Possibly too wide in the twist? I had a Kontrol once, was nice and not a huge, blocky saddle like the K2, however it was way to wide through the twist, pulled my hips about in a way I didn't like, and eventually I ached every time I rode in it. Was a shame as it fitted the horse perfectly, but that's pointless if it didn't fit me too.

Have been riding in the k2 jump- I hate it! I felt like it was really secure high up and then it sort of dumped my lower leg and that felt really insecure. So that’s a k2, equipe, ideal impala none of which I’ve liked.

Back in my cheap monarch and happy again. So frustrating!!

I did in a Black Country Wexford and found that very comfy but only hacked.

I do find I have to ride a bit more chair seat than is ‘ideal’ in the K2 but I think that is because I have a long leg hip to knee and I’d be like that in any jump saddle where I need my stirrups up. Perks of having long legs for dressage but a bit annoying for jumping!

I tried going back to find your message to see if I could help further but can't find it (or remember your real name :cool:). It could be the twist, it could be stirrup bar placement, seat width, block placement.....so many variables.

I think I'll just stick to my monarch tbh. It seems silly to shell out thousands of pounds if I'm not going to actually like the saddle.

So long as the boys remain happy in it, of course.
