I was wondering how people find the albion k2 jump saddles?

I'm swaying towards looking for a second hand one for my youngster.

She currently shares an ideal impala pro with my other horse which is M/W which was fitted with a half pad as she isn't quite that wide yet!

I have very long legs and really struggle with saddles that fit. I have 34" inside leg - they do look very forward cut however recently heard some people find them small!

She needs quite a flat tree ie not curved like a lot of jump saddles and from looking at it the shape does look suitable.

I have looked on saddles direct and they don't have anything and really struggling to find one! (I would need to try it but obviously this is very unlikely with private sales) but I don't know of any saddle fitters who stock second hand saddles near me)

I would look for another impala pro but finding them second hand is impossible and don't want to buy new as lost too much money that way.

Thanks :)

I have an Albion k2 jump, I love it!! Keeps me in place when he's throwing his fits, I wouldn't be without it. I may have to sell mine pm with your email address I should know outcome of vets in next few days.

Have you ridden in one? I'm quite tall but I have to say I don't love them, no problem they just don't suit me.

Once but only for 10mins! It was when I got my ideal impala pro I tried that but horse didn't like it (different horse) I haven't jumped in one but I'm really used to my monoflaps now but they are more expensive!

I have one as it fits my horse. I don't like it that much either and will definitely be upgrading to a different one later this year.

And I bet that when I want to SELL mine... I won't see any of these requests!

If I was really keen, I would shop around for pricing, then look at contacting places like Saddles Direct to go on the top of their list and maybe even see how much it would cost to put a up a wanted ad.

I used to have one, it was ok but I felt it was too bulky. The big knee rolls certainly kept me in place a few times thou. If you like the feel of an Impala Pro I don't think you will be as keen on the K2.

Hi I also have long legs and find I fit in them fine I have just brought a k2 second hand looks ammaculate cost £700 the good thing is they are adjustable on a saddle devil or you can have the head plate changed.

I only fit in a 18 inch saddle I did buy a albion kontrol foward cut that was 17.5 it did fit my legs in but I had no room to move when jumping so sold it and got the k2.

Whilst I do like them I'm not totally dead set on one as it may not fit my horse after all!

I do love the impala but cannot find one anywhere second hand! They seem to be as rare as hens teeth!

I had thought of it being bulky, I have sat in the ideal impala double flap but that felt a little bulky so maybe would feel similar to a k2

Problem is I would need to try one but not one sadder fitter near me sells second hand and I want to avoid new if possible!

I have sat in an Albion kontact lite but it felt much more close contact than the impala on the time like I was sitting on a thin plank of wood but it did fit my leg!

Ditto. I had a K2 GP, which when I first got, I loved. Then I started to feel too restricted by it, so changed to a monoflap Excelle integra. At the same time my boss bought a K2 jump for her horse, which I schooled for her. I never really liked it, find there is a lot of block and not in the right place. I do have a relatively short thigh, but then I'm 6ft with a 36 inside leg, so it can't be that short :D

Hmm maybe I should start looking at others! Ultimately I would like another impala but not in the position to by another brand new unfortunately

I preferably would love another monoflap but finding them second hand is very hard!

I'm not keen.

I'm quite tall and I kind of feel my lower leg feels quite "swingy" in it. More so on a more narrow horse (I ride several who have it.

I ended up buying the close contact one new...eyewateringly expensive but I couldn't find one second hand and feel very secure in it. Which is odd as my saddle fitter said the k2 ones are meant to offer more support and are aimed at more amauter riders whereas my one is aimed more for the pro.

Have to say now I have an ideal monoflap saddle there is no way I could go back to my K2... If I was you I would wait a little longer and save up for the Ideal saddle. I bought mine using redundancy money!!! I did have another job though lined up pretty quick!

I have one, and I wouldn't be without it. Horse has a nice habit of whipping round when he feels like it and it's kept me in place a fair few times. I don't find it bulky, i'm 5'10 although no idea what length of leg I am and find it lovely and comfortable. I borrowed one for a XCclinic before I bought one actually, and bought one second hand. However I wanted havanna which I found really hard to find?

Mine was £800 second hand.

Was size would u need & where in Scotland r u based?

Only asking as saddle fitter I used gas my K2 jump to re-sell as causes probs for my horse & he was v unhappy in it.
Saying that I really liked it- felt very secure in it & loved it for jumping altho did take a while 2 get used to the rock hard seat & 'arm-chair' position it put me in!!

Luckily I still would use my impala for xc and the Albion to jump in etc

I have always liked the look of them just my horse didn't like it - I'm hoping new horsey will!

Im 6"1 and have a 34" to 36" inside leg. I love the K2 so much that I have the Jump, the GP and the VSD and am currently looking at the dressage (i do have 2 horses by the way and a saddle fetish!).

I did have the 17.5 but having ridden in the 18" jump it is much much better - however, they are rather rare. Try and 18" if you can find one but don't buy the 17.5".
