i've been looking around at saddles, and i have a budget all ready and waiting, i was wondering what peoples views were on their Albion K2 jump saddles? i've ridden in one recently and quite liked it but found its pommel was a little high and the saddle was quite hard.
Also whats the price of the saddle brand new?
thank you

k2 jump saddles are a bit marmite with people - some love them some hate them and Im afraid Im in the hate camp!

I bought one brand new a few years back when I was convinced I wanted a jumping saddle with great big blocks to keep me secure and comfortable - I think it was around £1200 then.

Since having ridden in other jumping saddles I actually feel far far far more secure and ride better in flatter ones with very small minimal knee blocks hence when I got my new horse the k2 was sold and I got a far more minimalistic saddle.

Might be worth trying one of a different style before you part with your money?

I have a false knee and the k2 jumping saddle is amazing for me!! really fixes you in place!! see if you can try one a few times has i agree with the post above you either love them or hate them and they are expensive to buy if you get it wrong!! xx

don't worry i will be trying lots of saddles, just wanted to see if it would be in my price range, and to see what others thought as i had heard both good and bad reviews, i am inlove with barnsby event saddles, but no one seems to sell them 2nd hand :(
there are two young girls (14ish) where i work and they both have k2 jump saddles and love them but i also think that they haven't really got enough experience to pass judgment and say that its a better saddle than anything else, but when i watch them ride their lower legs are swinging back and forth so much so maybe you are right that its not secure(i just want to glue there legs down), i currently have a bates caprilli which has now got dressage length girth straps(i don't know why this is!? i bought it like that) and its lovely but just not the right fit for a TB and a tiny one at that!
