albion K2 jumper sizings, can anyone advise please?

I have finally decided which jumping/eventing saddle to go for but could do with some help to get the correct size. I want to get an Albion k2 jumping saddle but am not sure whether I need a medium or a medium wide. As I am gonna go for a secondhand one I can't get it from the saddlefitter she only does new saddles. From what I've seen they seem to be more generous in size than most other saddles. Can anyone give me a D to D ring measurement of theirs and also a measurement of between the panels where it comes over the shoulder. Is there much difference between the M and M/W? He currently fits the Isabell Werth dressage saddle in M with a light saddlepad, need the MW if I use a polypad type pad. Any suggestions please??

Strangely enough I have two of these saddles. One is on a *ahem* well built Irish X with a huge shoulder and sloping wither. The other is on a very fine, close coupled, TB. They are both in a 17.5 medium (with slightly different flocking admitedly).
 
Yeah, mine is a 'strong' built irish x dutch warmblood. I used to alsways ride in stubbens but the gullut is too narrow for him. Albion has a nice wide gullet. Are they very comfy?? Heard lots of good news about them but never actually rode in one myself. They must be popular as they make plenty of money even secondhand!!

Why don't you get your saddle fitter out to fit a new one, but then not buy it new?

I think they come up quite wide. I have a K2 GP medium and could measure across D rings but not sure if that would be different to the jumper?
 
I am also looking for a second hand K2 jumping saddle in brown - they are like sooo rare, so if you find one that kinda fits - get a saddle fitter to come and fit it properly - don't let it go!
 
Was actually gonna ask the saddlefitter that but felt bad when not buying it. She has to come down soon anyway to check my dressage saddle, will ask her to bring the albion than as she carries them anyway. Thanks
 
I know, they seem soooo popular and make loaaaaads of money second hand. I just cant afford too much at the mo. But have nothing to ride him in at the mo. only my dressage saddle

Really want a gp type for those easy days and to do a bit of umping again. He is only back in work since a bad injury so don't want to jeopardise anything in using my old saddle as this is slightly too narrow
 
Thats brilliant I used to have a 30 stubben which was pretty ok only too narrow in the gullet. A MM should do him so. Thanks!! Now hopefully I can get a reasonable second hand one....

Agree with measles they are very hard, used to hack in one, as well as jump but I did get used to it after a while. Really helps with the jumping position though.

I think I may have sold mine, its with the saddler at the moment to see if it fits one of his client's horses, but if you are interested PM me and I will let u know if that doesn't work out. It's a med/wide 17.5" in black.
 
yeah, if budgeting allow another £50 for a decent seatsaver! I have never had such bum-ache as I did after hacking in mine! Couple of hacks and it got relegated until I could get hold of a seatsaver - now got a nice heather moffat one and it's bliss! I think it's coz it was originally designed for show-jumping and they never sit their bums in the saddle. I love it, but boy was it hard! i got mine off ebay for £650 in really fab condition. I have a M (TB tree) on a Welsh Cob!!! His other saddle is a MW Albion dressage one but that's too wide so bulked out with a half pad - am saving up for an SLK!
