Albion Saddles - which one???

Am going to get a new (2nd-hand!!) saddle and have recently tried out a couple of potential new horses both of which I rode in Albion saddles. Didn't like the horses (another story!!) but the saddle was great!

I have checked Albion website and am uncertain which saddle I rode in - it had very large knee and thigh rolls and was forward cut BUT was very comfortable to do flat work in. As I intend to be mostly hacking with a lesson (flatwork) once a week which Albion saddle would be best for me - can you do adequate low level flatwork in a jumping saddle? Any help and opinions would be gratefully received!!

I would hazard a guess that it was a K2 GP?? I have 2 of them and they are great. I also have the SLK Ultima dressage which is lovely too!!

What kind of size are yo looking for as I will shortly be selling on of my GPs - PM if you like.

Hi i have the albion K2 jumping saddle it has quite large knee rolls and is forward cut. It sounds like the one you may have rode in. I found its ok for flatwork but i now have a dressage saddle also. I would think the K2 GP saddle would be adequate for jumping and probably better for getting your leg in position for flatwork. You should try them out and see what you like. I got mine on trial from TDS saddlery for a week then i sent back the ones i didnt want.

if your after an albion and still want to use it for flatwork i would get the k2-i have had this for 2 years and its excellent for jumping and hacking-altho i have a dressage saddle im equally at home in the k2 if i decide to school before or after hacking-if you find out what size fits your horse you may be able to pick up a second hand one off of ebay

I have an Albion Selecta which has a nice open seat and you can change the knee rolls for flatwork/jumping etc.
It's now for sale due a new saddle arriving on Tuesday, PM if your interested
