I would like to know more about the above stables. From the research I have done, it seems there is a lot of "yard politics" there (but so do many yards, it seems).

I used to buy feed there - so I know it has great facilities but that's all I really know.

Do you happen to know more about the yard? Is it just a case of a few young and bitchy teenagers (I am older, so that doesn't really come into play)??

I'm on the DIY yard at the moment. I don't think there's any more politics there than on any other yard. Everyone's very friendly and I think the problems that crop up are more from people spending too much time together and people getting on each other's nerves rather than from any nastiness. When things get tough, we've had our fair share of accidents and illness recently, people are very supportive. We each have our own tack room and paddock so that certainly helps avoid conflict.

The only real problem is how busy Alden gets, because it's such a big complex with three separate yards there are a lot of visitors and unfortunately some can be very inconsiderate. It's also difficult to ride during the week in the winter as the menage tends to be booked or as happened this year covered in snow for 6 weeks. It would be great to have another one but I think it's unlikely to happen.
