I have been asked to write a report on Aldon HT for Ridgeway Rider magazine (free magazine available in SW region).

I have been up seen the courses and know a few people that have been up each day. However if anybody can give me any general information / background info about people who have done well or just how some of the top combinations were going today. Basically anything that might be interesting that can liven my report up a bit.

Pm me or post here whatever is easiest. Thanks

my YOs son had four horses there yesterday and one today - il find out tomoro how he got on (altho someone on here will probably know) and i can let you know x

i know Jade had a good couple of days.. but then i expect you'll know more about that that me.. sorry, not much help.

how did you get that sponsorship from them last year anyway?

I have a freind that was there yesterday!.I will see how she done. She was in the same class as Will F.P and Andrew Nicholson (sp).

I was their sponsored rider the time before last and still keep in touch hence doing this report for them. Unfortunatly they have stopped the amature sponsored rider this year which is a real shame. They do sponsor some pro's still who write for them.

My friend came second in the Novice and qualified for the finals at Gatcombe. She said the SJ was causing a few problems for a few people but the XC rode beautifully.dont know if this is any use to you though?.

I got the impression they got very peeved with the rider after you and some of the sponsors complained (friend is heavily involved as company she works for is one of sponsors, you would have met her when you were involved actually)

can't help with topic of post though as never been to Aldon!

Shame really I am still in contact with a couple of the sponsors and got so much out of it. Like to think I gave as much as I could back too.

that i believe was the problem the person I mentioned wasn't giving back what was expected. You may have noted the year after an older recipient was chosen rather than the normal older up coming teenager to try to get back from it what they should do. I would have given my right arm (and probably more) to have won the deal and I would have made sure that not only would I turn up to media/sponsor events when requested to I would be friendly and happy to do so. Its a shame to lose it for the area as it did give some up and comings a great 'leg up'.
