Just out of interest - does anyone else use this? Why do you use it instead of "normal" chaff? Or do you mix it with "normal" chaff? And what else do you feed with it in the same meal?
The old boy has it instead of chaff with comp mix and dynamic twice a day. Have mixed it with alfa a as a hay substitute for toothless pony so she had two bowls one with fast fibre and a-a and another with fast fibre and pasture mix.
I use it as a high fibre low calorie base for my mare who is a good doer. I was also mixing in a few handfuls of alfa lite and a handful of cool mix, but have just switched those for Dengie healthy hooves. Fast Fibre is a bit of a sludge on its own, I feel it needs some chaff mixed in. My horse loves it though.
Oops sorry about the title of the thread, I find it difficult to type on my dad's laptop keyboard!
I'm interested because I have just put my mare onto a mix of FF and HiFi Lite as she has been choking on her feed. I'm hoping if I make it sloppy I can help slow her down when she eats. I'm using it in preference to feeding sloppy sugar beet/Speedi-Beet as she's a VERY good doer!
I was just interested to see if people used it for the reasons I thought they would, or just in preference to chaff. It seems I was right if you two are anything to go by!
I feed it to both my Tb's to bulk their feeds out. they ahve it with A&P Power and Performance cubes and Ultra Grass... they love it and have been licking the bowl clean...
i feed the Fast Fibre and also the Calm and Condition as my horse randomly started choking on food too. he absolutely loves this mixture and you can make it as sloppy as you like - he hasnt choked once !!!
