He's a contradictory fellow :cool: and the more I find out the more I dislike, if I'm prefectly honest.

According to him, horse riding isn't a sport, because it relies on the horse to do the work not the rider.
" … equestrian sport by nature can’t be even defined as a sport. Yes, any sport includes records and victories, but these records and victories are gained by one’s own sweat and blood, by one’s own pains and efforts. And equestrian sport (if we study the issue) represents parasitizing on physical abilities of another living being which does not want to be engaged in this sport but forced to it by pain and beating. So why the hell we call it a sport?"
"It’s disrespectful and disgusting, almost perverted. Sport dressage, horses that stand all day long in a box and are only taken out when they get ridden. And then they need to walk perfectly and if they make a wrong step they get punished. Forced collection, broken horses with red eyes and dead looks in their eyes. Mouth full of foam and wide open, trying to save the tongue from the silent torture called bit. Used for communication and aid, for the horse only a pain."


Riding is also allegedly bad for horses health
"He doesn't ride on ethical grounds, first of all. And besides, even the most permissive riding doesn't profit anything horse's health"

To be part of his little club,
"Stop riding for at least a year to let the back of your horse recover and to work on a new relationship with your horse. Study the horses’ anatomy, soul and nature..."

He pretty much says bits and bridles are cruel and it is possible to succeed in high school and classical dressage without them (yet it's okay to use saddle and seat aids, a whip and spurs :cool:) even though he wasn't particularly successful with them!
 
Be wary looking through his website, there are some terribly disturbing photos on there, not the type of images you can get out of your head very easily.
 
Avoid like a plague!!!In many good russian horse forums for posting any discussions about Nevzorov you'll be banned !He is show man,he doing it for fame and money.Knowlegable(spelling?)people will understand,where is truth and what is good and what is bad,but loads of younger people,teenagers may take it too serious.And no one reallly knows which methods he use behind the closed doors to achieve his results.:mad:
 
He is a man of extreme views, isn't he!

He is currently working on a project teaching horses to read latin. Only a couple of photos on his website, but news to come on his next video, apparently.

He claims to have amassed tonnes of overwhelming evidence that riding is bad for the horse, yet I don't think he has actually published any of it.

My main concern with what he does, is that if the videos are a true reflection of a day's work those horses do a heck of a lot of high school manouevres. Its not natural to do that as much as it appears he does with them, and one must wonder what the long term effects on their joints are.

He seems to have a whole hive of bees in his bonnet. In fact, I suspect that if we removed his bonnet, we'd find the solution to falling bee populations under there...

I'm sure he will be able to teach horses to 'read' Latin, it is quite possible to clicker train animals to associate words on a page with the same words being spoken and get them to touch the written word upon hearing the spoken word for a reward. Katielou (on the AAD bit) has taught her dog to 'read' (English though, not Latin :p). It's just operant conditioning, works on horses the same as it does on dogs as far as I know.
 
Now be aware,as now you might get hooked!How many of you googled him now or searched him on youtube?:eek: Must say,i was really impressed when i saw some of his pictures,working with horses with no saddle or bridle,doing all this high school movement,but when i started to look and read more,i decided for myself it will be better if i just avoid going to his website! He act's like a shock therapy.And its always will be people who will support him,cos its sort of cool,look at us,we protecting poor horses from evil humans.Aargh.:mad:

I've just got rid of a virus after visiting his website! It started with 1 and then it multiplied, luckily my dad is brill with computers so has managed to fix it.

Honestly everyone be careful what you go on.

Thats the one! And then it emailed everyone in my address book to share the virus with them.
