Im curious to know of your experiences with Alfa a. Obviously work wonders for spme people but others I've heard the slightest bit sends their horse loopy!

I've fed Alfa A, Alfa A lite and Alfa A oil to two of mine with no problems or changes in them other then the desired one of putting weight on when needed.
Although after a chat with dengie regarding my old chap I have just changed from oil to Molasses Free because they said given his liver history in might be putting more stain on his liver to digest the oil which would be in effect taking away the condition its trying to put on! If that makes sense. He seems ok on it but he's only been on it for a few days.

I used to feed Alfa A but stopped when I realised it was causing both my WB & Connie X to become completely hyper. I now feed Hi Fi Molasses Free but bought Alfa A Molasses Free by mistake and found that this also seemed to affect the behaviour of my WB & ID which surprised me as I had thought it was just the molasses that were to blame. Will be interested in what others have found.

I fed alfa a all the time with previous horses with no ill effect. However I have heard enough about it to make me really look into it, if I ever wanted to feed it now.

I've fed Alpha A and Alpha A Oil to all of my horses - wonderful stuff, and never sent one of them loopy.

All mine have molasses free alfa a, we've had no problems with it, apart from one pony who came up in lumps. Its like most feeds, suits some doesn't suit others!

Alfa A & the oily one send my horse nutty, tried the Alda a molasses free when he had gastric ulcers last summer but wouldn't eat it(or look at it or even
sniff it!) . Tried top spec alfalfa last year but that also affected him so completely avoiding pure alfalfa chaffs now!

I'm all for Alfa A. Every horse I have fed it to has done well on it and hasn't changed their temprement. My mare is on Alfa A Oil atm and she looks good so I'm happy :)

We have fed alfalfa to a mare with a number of food intolerances, but not alfa-a as she could not have the molasses. We have fed the old cob girl on it and it has been fine for her. The current Appy however, who does seem to have a reaction to a few things, cannot tolerate it at all, she ends up a fruit loop/

Its got more protein in it, so more suited for working horse as it gives more energy and helps build muscle. My horse is on the lite version and shes always done well off it. My other horse (who I just sold :( ) was 5 and she would be a nutter on any other type of chaff, she had to have the alfa a lite or molasses free. Note though some fussy horses that are used to chaffs soaked in mollasses might turn their nose up at it to start with as its not as sweet.

I've never had any problems with it. I feed it to my irish draughtx, and was great for him. We feed it to all our riding schools horses and ponies, the polo ponies the spanish stallions and warmblood eventers, and none of them have any trouble. :)

My sensitive little soul, normally a poor doer, has been great on it this year. No hard mixes required and kept weight on well. No copd issues either on hay all winter which may not be connected. She came out in hives on hi fi lite with apple though and my friends mare won't touch alfa a.

Love it. My IDxTB tends to drop weight over winter but not on alfa a oil. When I got my weanling (sportshorse) I called feedline and they said should be ok for her too. Sure enough, a year and a bit later she's still doing fine on it, not hyper, which was what I worried about.

My mare was fab on Alpha A oil whilst pregnant and lactating but as soon as Filly weaned she went loopy. Couldn't even lead her she just reared the whole time and became totally unmanageable. Took her off it and she calmed right down to her usual self.

Brilliant for those who are doing the work or need the condition but I would approach with caution for mine in future.
