The recent increase in use and availability of anatomical bridle leads me wondering are they worth the price? I'm very interested in the PofSweden bridles with their wide headpiece to relieve pressure on the poll but is it worth the price? Are there cheaper versions?

A lot of wide overly padded headpieces actually assert more pressure than they relieve. A lot of the high end brands are mass produced in factories and the quality isn't as it should be for the cost either.

Lots of independent bridle makers can make something truly fitted to your horse with better quality leather and hand craftsmanship.

My fussy 'knows what he likes' horse is happiest in a bog standard plain headpiece and no noseband.
I tried a nice anatomical wide padded headpiece, he started head shaking. It was also very heavy compared to his normal pared down bridle!

We've just started stocking PS of Sweden bridles at the shop where I work. They are gorgeous. The leather is beautiful and the designs are really interesting. We can't seem to keep up with demand, we're getting orders left, right and centre. I love all the little extras, like the rubberized keepers, the bit supports and the way that the nosebands are designed to stay off the sensitive parts of the face.

I've got my eye on a Flying Changes bridle. It's quite plain (I don't like lots of bling or fuss) and I love the way you can remove the flash, leaving no trace that it was ever there :)
