All good experience........(Little Matt. PN)

LOL bless her, does sound as if she enjoys eventing. She is a lovely little mare.

There were quite a few HHOers there today I think competing, Jack was there with Viva Tequila in the PNRF and came 7th and Mr_Sunny did the Training class which looked quite successful.

No worries about not saying hello, will no doubt run into you at some other event maybe.

Just another well done and remember, a mistake is a FEEDBACK not a failure! You both look great together!
All the best next time

Me too!! I will check on here when I leave my house at 6.15ish and will call the hotline if my mums mobile will let me as mine doesnt!
mad.gif

Just to say I love ur horse. Has the same markings as a very well bred TB yearling filly by Giants Causeway that im looking after at the minute. Hard luck about your fall, but you both look like a great team over the sj fences.

Thank you everyone
smile.gif
Feeling much more upbeat again now
grin.gif
Silly thing is with a double clear i still wouldnt have got placed so i didnt matter that i had the fall - i just feel i let her down i guess....but all long as she is unfazed by it then it can only be a positive as it has taught me a very valuable lesson!!
blush.gif

She will get 2 days off now to roam around the field and stretch her legs
smile.gif
then ill gently lunge her on tuesday and see if she's sound/ sore etc. and we'll move on from there
smile.gif
Her next run in intro anyway so that can only be a good thing and ill SJ once or twice before then just to get her jumping again. The more i think about, the gladder i am that i finished the course because it boosted her confidence and mine no end
smile.gif
if id retired i wouldnt have known whether she had lost confidence etc.
smile.gif

Mum has gone to bed - she was asleep infront on telly at 8.30pm! dont blame her
wink.gif

Thanks for all your lovely comments
smile.gif
although we're both bruised i dont think our confidence is dented and we are fully functional and ready for our next run (weather permitting of course)
wink.gif

Hi Hattie - Ben and Jerry's saw you warming up but you were concentrating so didn't introduce ourselves - looked out for you later but didn't see you.

We were very impressed by how beautifully Hattie went and how well you rode her. We wondered what had happened at the corner (very bad luck) but were pleased to see you both emerge looking confident at the end of the course.

You live and learn and it doesn't seem to have done either of you (except for your hat) any lasting damage so put it behind you and hope to meet you properly next time.

Thank you
smile.gif
Definitely need to meet you properly next time!! i keep missing people! Yet unbeknown to us (for a while) we parked right next to an HHOer when i did day before dressage! i think her forum name is "sarahs" (sorry if im wrong Sarah!)
blush.gif
and we were chatting away to her totally oblivious to the fact we were both HHOers when my mum mentioned that Hattie had been successful at intro level and Sarah turned round and exclaimed "Is that Hattie!!"
grin.gif
which of course it was
wink.gif
and we met her lovely lovely horse Uvin. Not sure how she got on in the end but i think she was double clear - so she was very pleased
grin.gif

Mum said Hattie's knee although puffy and a little tender doesnt seem any worse this morning which is good so hopefully with some more cold hosing she'll be a right as rain in a couple of days
grin.gif
ive got a nice big bruise on my bottom, but not a mark to show for it, its very def there though!!
smirk.gif

How did your girlie get on Suzy??
smile.gif

Hi !!!!!!
Great to meet you both! and your mum ! Thank you so much for the number bib on fri ! - saved my life !
If i hadnt of heard over the speakers that you had come off i would never have known by the way you came through the finish! such a little pro !
Uvin was a good boy - but I let him down - went the wrong way after number 7 ! so got 6 time pentalties. But im still chuffed with him, he didnt look at anything xc and we took all the direct routes so we got our first double clear at PN.
Broughts loads of pics and the vid ! As you saw he is massive so he makes all the jumps in the pics look tiny !
Hattie is the most amazing little mare I have seen! dont know how you sit to that jump !

We had a good day (almost). She was a monkey in the dressage. She's normally really good, but perhaps decided to see what she could get away with as it wasn't 'mum' and was a bit gobby. However, in contrast to the usual complaints, she got a totally undeserved good mark of 30.5 - when I read the sheet I wasn't sure what horse they were watching!!

She jumped a beautiful clear round sj. XC she actually went really well (much more forwards and bold) but had an unfortunate stop at the dreaded toadstools. I didn't see but rider says she backed off miles out and she gave her a smack and then about 2/3 out she jammed on the anchors and skidded into the fence. Came round fine the next time and with the ever wise benefit of hindsight, perhaps she should have been allowed to slow down and showjump the fence so she could have a look at it. I wasn't unhappy as she really went much better and I feel putting someone more experienced on her to give her confidence xc was the right thing to do. Rider was cross as wanted some crystal (would've been third!!!!) and cross with herself as now thinks she could've avoided the stop if she ridden her differently - however, she's only ridden her 3 times so she's not doing too badly in my eyes!! She went all the straight ways everywhere else so I was pleased. Plus, she's a total speed demon (without appearing to go too fast) and went round 10 secs under the time even with a stop.

I'm away in August so she's off for some intensive schooling and to do a couple more events and then I will attempt to pick up the reins again. Fingers crossed!!

shocked.gif
oh you silly billy!! what a shame! Sooo glad he went well - he's a really stunning horse and his SJ round looked as if he was popping over 2'3'' with his eyes closed!
grin.gif
wish id seen your XC round - but by that point i was running far too high on adrenaline and Mum wanted to check that me and Hatts were in one piece and she wanted to here the whole story right from the beginning of what happened!!
blush.gif
smirk.gif
Most embarressing thing was some friends of ours were standing at the trakenher(sp?) and must have seen the back of what happened at the corner! they must have seen Hattie's back end fly in the air and me flying jet propelled heading towards the ground!
blush.gif
will have to speak to them and see if they can enlighten me as to exactly what happened!!

You're going to have to show us some pics of you gorgeous lad!
grin.gif

and no problem about the no. bib - 2 weeks ago we leant our over reach boots to one person and both my martingale and reins to another person!
blush.gif
wink.gif

Well thats a fantastic dressage score!
grin.gif
maybe you can just gloss over the fact that she didnt look so good to you - the judge obviously adored her
grin.gif
laugh.gif

Sounds like she gave her jockey a superb ride XC! The mushrooms were really spooky! when i did the intro at the beginning of the season Hattie did the most enormous spook at them as we galloped past them
blush.gif
Yesterday she spooked and slowed down about 6 strides out so that she could quantify them and then seemed to close her eyes and just leap them!
blush.gif
That was definitely the spookiest fence on the course by far!
laugh.gif

Hope she has a good time intensive schooling and hope to see you onboard her at an event in the near future
grin.gif

Would love to see you if you come to Firle
smile.gif
Am entered for the saturday PN and am helping on the sunday
grin.gif
Are you thinking of doing an intro this season or waiting until next season?? would be great to see you at pulborough or munstead or somewhere like that
grin.gif

Yep I saw you'd entered for Sat PN, will see if we can go on the Saturday!
laugh.gif
Would love to do an Intro later this season if Shad's going well enough and if I can get there - definitely want her to be completely happy XC and my mum will take some persuasion to take me that far (I know it isn't that far but my mum hates towing
mad.gif
tongue.gif
) unless I can find someone else to take me!
grin.gif

look forward to seeing you out and about Helen
smile.gif
hope she's going well enough to see out at a BE event soon
grin.gif

BtB - next event in Intro Champs, followed by Firle PN
smile.gif

hattkins we will have to rename you "hatties mobile tack loaning service"
Once i figure out how to post pics I will defo put some up of uvin, he is handsome but i think i look at him though "mummy glasses" but yes he does make everything look rather small !
Im entering Firle this week so will see you there !
I had dodgy strides at most fences, but im sure your friends were shocked when they saw you fly ! Hope her front legs are ok
SX

hehee! i should bring doubles of everything and loan them out to people for the day
grin.gif
wink.gif

Stupid thing was i had bang on perfect strides at everything else! i couldnt believe my luck! obviously by the 5 to last fence my luck well and truly ran out!
blush.gif
cold hosed her knee this evening and its quite puffy but bless her she's as sound as a bell on it! She's a bit of a fighter i think!
wink.gif

Of course you look at him through "mummy glasses" who wouldnt! he's stunning
grin.gif
- i must look at poor Fiddly standing on box rest covered in dust and all greasy with a bog brush mane and tail through "tripley rose tinted mummy glasses"! i genuinely think Uvin's gorgeous! when we arrived and at that point hadnt spoken to you, he was in the lorry with his head sticking out and his ears pricked looking at us - he just looked sooooooo adorable and extremely handsome
grin.gif

Looking forward to seeing you at Firle
smile.gif
am competing on the saturday and helping out on the sunday so i should see you regardless of which day you compete in the PN
smile.gif

Hattie couldnt care less about her knee! we're there chucking arnica and witchhazel gel on it and cold hosing it and bless her she trotted up again sound as a bell! i think she must be sore as its fairly puffy but its pretty minor and she's a toughy by the looks of things (she's covered in battle scars! and her teeth were kicked in when she was a baby
blush.gif
!)

So irritating for all of you who were looking forward to today - how did you get on showing today??
smile.gif

Well done, I saw the first bit of the XC and the end and was really impressed with the pair of you, you ride beautifully.
Incase you were wondering who the mad woman with the black lab was who wished you luck on the way to the XC ... it was me!

Well done for finishing - you and Hattie are both very brave. I bet your poor Mum was panicking - I do feel for her - but it could have been so much worse. Good luck at the Championships - I reckon it's just as well to get the 'bad' day out of the way before you go.

Thankyou
smile.gif
Yup think my Mum probably was panicking! but over the tanoy they said very quickly that i was up on my feet so i think she breathed i sigh of relief!
wink.gif

Certainly coming to grief is just a case of when not if - hopefully ive learnt from this and we'll see how we get on next time out
smile.gif

Hi, well done 4 gettin back on,and im 100% sure hattie wont remeber that fall the nxt time u take her out.
